So, assuming the worst here, how franchise altering is this? another tommy john would mean darvish is done as a frontline guy. that's a lot of years and money tied up in him and heyward
this game sucked and this team likely sucks but i just wanna say that jon lester is a beast and might be the most consequential cubs FA signing ever? I never thought he would be pitching this well at this point in his deal
Yeah same, I’m incredibly annoyed but have some reason to believe this silly historic walk nonsense will go away a bit. His stuff seems mostly fine too, not like his velo or movement is down and he’s wild. Literally just need the guy to go walking like 4.5 guys per 9. Theo right now while you nerds are still trying to rationalize this debacle: this whole game was worth it just for the bottle rocket reference
Carl was worth 4.9 WAR post-Theo. Heyward has been worth *gulp* 2.3 WAR. PLOT TWIST: The Red Sox only got 0.2 WAR from Carl, the rest went to the Dodgers. Basically they both suck.
i think most of the reaction to his low k-rate is silly, even if i get it in the context of the fastball. Hes only like 20, he's never pitched above A+ ball, is it any surprise he doesnt really know what he's doing up there yet
yeah it's Ugly Jose, i knew he was *good* but seeing his production for like the last year + completely knocked my socks off at AA, he hit 3 HR in 113 G Lindor hit 7 in 109 G they've each hit 36 in the last year i only guessed right because i looked at the leaderboard the other day and was shocked to see him so high. I thought he was struggling to start the year off but it looks like he got it together
