  1. The Jays one is awful, but I don't see anything wrong with the Marlins cap
  2. jesus christ, when they said that sullivan was coming up with some breaking news, i was thinking TRADE
  3. TRULY THESE ARE THE BFFIB (EXTRA F FREE OF CHARGE)
  4. this is literally the first positive hill news in like 4 months, so even if it ends up being a fluke, i'll take it
  5. If the Brewers get Sabathia, he'll likely be able to make anywhere from 12-15 starts for them, depending on when the trade goes down. Will he make that much of a difference in those starts to overcome 4.5 games in the standings, I don't know. But it could come close to being a push. I would love it if we got up about 7 games over Milwaukee and they traded for Sabathia. He's not going to make up 7 games, and if he doesnt re-sign with them, they just wasted prospects.
  6. Because they're usually wrong and he starts a ton of them? Explain how he is wrong? Read rest of thread? As of yesterday: Jon already mentioned after the fact that the last 18 games stat is overall, not with 2 strikes. Kosuke has been striking out more lately, hardcorecubfan is right. He struck out four more times in june than he did in april. He did have more PAs in April, so he did strike out more in less chances, but not a lot more. Certainly not enough to say for sure that it's anything more than a fluke.
  7. Chase Daniel plays for missouri, rookie I was talking to TT, veteran. Oh, well Noel Devine plays for WVU, novice I know. It was worded terribly. I was just pointing out the irony of a Mizzou football fan burning an Oklahoma fan, experienced player. Well I get it now, uhhh, greenhorn?

  10. Yeah, when I drove through Oklahoma the only thing I saw were Valero stations and Noel Devine running all over the place. Ouch. He was probably running free because our entire defense was still busy sacking Chase Daniel.
  11. That's Texas. The OKC Doppler Radars has a nice ring to it
  12. thanks for the update
  13. All the name ideas I've heard (all fan made, thank god) have been awful.
  14. this = posting btw
  15. god, you're terrible at this
  16. They owner was losing a lot of money with a team that had a terrible lease in a crappy arena, and he sold the organization to a billionaire from a city that had fantastic attendance while hosting a transplant team from another area. What did he think was going to happen? Seattle isn't getting robbed. They barely even supported the team when the whole S.O.S movement needed them the most. The fans in Seattle knew the damn S.O.S. never had a chance because this whole abomination is being orchestrated by David Stern. Why should they have a 'movement' (what are they gonna do, sell out the arena for a team they know is moving?) when they know nothing will change? Stern should be ashamed of himself. No one would stop talking about how wonderful KeyArena is when it opened, now it doesn't meet NBA standards? It's a damn travesty. Everyone, even Seattle fans, admit that the KeyArena is run down. It's no secret that Stern and the entire NBA wanted the Sonics out of Seattle. They're a bad team in a bad arena with apathetic fans... he'd be a bad commish if he didnt want them to head to an area that will support them.
  17. This is a legit concern. OKC will support the team, but will players come to OKC? Outbidding other teams for players in the NBA doesn't work quite as well as it does in baseball.
  18. I think the deal is that Bennet and co. are buying out the lease, not that the team is staying Yeah, read more carefully, CubbieBum. No mention of the Sonics staying, just that Seattle is getting $75 million. AP seems to think it would be closer to the $60 million that Bennett says he would lose by staying in Seattle, but he may be willing to go higher just to be done with the mess
  19. I think the deal is that Bennet and co. are buying out the lease, not that the team is staying I didn't read that espn link, but this just crossed the wire

  21. won't last long ... Hornets got good attendance becasue they are one of the closest thus most popular teams to OKC plus the sympathy factor. The Sonics are like some foreign guy walking into town yelling LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I am the best ... except for we can't win. Uhhh, trust me, you don't know what you're talking about. No one in the entire state of oklahoma cared about the hornets before they moved to OKC. In fact, I would say that the most popular team in Oklahoma prior to the 2-year Hornets thing was the Mavs, who were a bit of a rival to the Hornets, and hte fans abandoned Dallas immediately. The Sonics will get support because they're a young, athletic team in an area that is DYING for a pro sports teams. Everyone knows they aren't going to be great or even good at the moment.
  22. I don't want to waste time searching for the NBA thread, so... initial reports are that the Sonics and Seattle have reached an agreement to bring the team to OKC this fall. COME ON DOWN, PRO SPORTS IN OKLAHOMA YESSSSSSSSSS
