  1. must...resist.....posting....picture............ this wasn't the point that you keep avoiding
  2. Why you didn't take me up on that ban bet on Opening Day when you're getting on my case for calling the game over in the 2nd inning? If you were so confident I was wrong, you should have taken me up on it. that's not on topic erik i didn't take you up on the bet because it was a fool's bet and i don't play in mud with pigs (tonight withstanding)
  3. oh ok, let's get it back on topic then. what was asked of me.
  4. on one hand i'd love to keep this going on the other i don't want to ruin this thread by having erik post in it more, decisions, decisions, decisions
  5. erik, if i got upset everytime you said something stupid on this board, i'd be insane. pointing out a stupid post isn't getting upset. upset would be like freaking out in a gamethread during the second inning of the first game of the sea... oh wait
  6. since that still wasn't any kind of explanation of your original post, i'm assuming it's an admittance of ignorance
  7. i bet the number of ballplayers that have had lasik is incredibly high. it's not newsworthy so you don't hear about it, but i'd be shocked if they weren't out getting it left and right.
  8. I agree with you that examples weren't good but in general baseball has resisted technological advances. like what? baseball upgrades technology all the time in the name of better functionality. If this thing is useful, you think a team will drop $15 mil on a first round draft pick but balk at $2,000 or whatever that this costs? It was a stupid thing to say. i hate when people act like they have intimate knowledge of something when they're just spitting things off the top of their heads to appear like an aficionado. Who is the one just spitting things off the top of their heads? You are acting as if this is a lock to be accepted and used widely. I said baseball of all sports tends to stick to the way things have always been done for as long as they can. Doesn't mean this won't take off and be used widely but in general baseball resists technological advances and this may be one that takes a year or two to spread (the original post was 5-10 years which I said I disagreed with). Lasik surgery is the best example I can think of right now. It is still not used by everyone even though it can help tremendously. I don't see the point in someone who has near perfect vision getting it but there are plenty of guys who were contacts and the such in baseball when they could get Lasik and have perfect or better vision. lasik isn't used by everyone because it's a surgery and it's expensive. i'm talking about billion-dollar baseball teams popping out a couple thousand dollars to be proactive toward injuries to their million-dollar pitchers.

  10. what exactly does a shirt specifically designed to track athletic performance have to do with technology made for home use? if it works and it's useful, teams will use it. it has nothing to do with HD tv slowly proliferating out into people's homes.
  11. Hey UK, anyone from NE oklahoma that are worth a damn? I'm assuming Owasso is stocked as usual.
  12. marmol makes me really sad, because by the time this team is good again, he's going to be expensive and/or burned out
  13. wtf are they complaining about. if he had gone to third he would have been out by 25 feet.
  14. I expected them to not suck? that was a bad move then. try to be more realistic in the future
  15. hard to [expletive] in a trough
  16. what exactly were your preseason plans for this team? If you were expecting them to be 3-1 at this point, the problem starts with you.
  17. What example did you have in mind when you posted this?
  18. You know when you're really drunk? And you're in the car and you're like "i wish I was dead." And you realize you have to puke, and you don't want to puke but you realize that puking is going to make you feel so much better as soon as it's over? That's this season. We puke for 162 games and everyone involved says "well we need to make some changes." and it gets better.
  19. i was gonna complain about colvin batting second until i realized that our lineup is freaking terrible. Why does fontenot get at bats at all over baker? am i crazy? Silva 3-year 33 HR allowed in LHB in 813 at bats (.892 OPS.) Votto or Bruce going deep is about a certainty
  20. maybe this has been covered and I missed it, but is there any hope of putting these online so i can put them on an iphone? i'd love to listen to them on my drive to work/home from work
  21. That's probably an unnecessary overreaction. Really? Unless the tailor was in his or her very first day on the job, how do you misspell the name of a team that has been playing in the same city for the past 52 years now? It makes your team look bush league. So you want that locker room attendant to lose his probably very mediocre paying job for a misplaced letter on a uniform (something that happens every year to multiple teams) because it makes them look bush league even if they have several highly compensated players with guaranteed contracts who make bush league plays all season long? If the team is ok with it, fine by me. I just don't know how you overlook something that basic is all. Gotta love NSBB's sarcastic reactions to every little thing. you mean like demanding that an employee gets fired for a simple mistake?
  22. Heyward and Glaus really ought to be flipped in that order. Not complaining, though. The less we have to pitch to Heyward the better. i think bobby cox always works the rooks in at the bottom of the order. So he can give them PT without people freaking out when they go 0-3 a couple times in a row. HMM, I WISH WE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT.
