    No. Everyone was shocked. The MLB network crew didn't even know who he was.. The thread from last year is around -- I think still on the first page.. Look at it for a few laughs. Many thought Simpson was left handed, LOL. And were pissed when they found out he was right handed. I remember imagining him on his couch eating a sandwich and looking up at the TV with a perplexed look on his face when they announed the pick. "Hey dad, there's another guy named Hayden Simpson in this draft. I SAID THERE'S ANOTHER HAYDEN SIMPSON IN THE DRAFT. WEIRD HUH???"

    Read from a guy in Baltimore saying that the Orioles are flipping from Bundy to Bradley. I kind of think that, in that case, Bundy would have a better chance of getting to 9 than Bradley would (assuming Baltimore went with Bundy.) That's a horribly phrased sentence but you get it.

    I could talk myself into being cool with the Starling pick, but I really hope we pounce on Bundy if he's there.

    Thinking out loud, if Lindor goes 2, you would think the DBacks wouldn't be able to resist Rendon at 3, right? But it's been implied that they would go cheap on the 7th pick. So basically it kicks a more expensive guy down to us.

    Quade is pretty obviously a placeholder coach until a better one comes along. It's not a bad idea, really. This is a lost year no matter what, what if there were no candidates the cubs actually wanted?

    Mostly lack of upside. He's got 5 tools, but none of them profile as plus. And unless his defense improves, he'll probably be relegated to a corner spot. He's just kinda underwhelming for a first rounder. Edit: That's not to say he's a particularly bad pick or anything... just not the franchise changer we all find ourselves hoping for. Sounds like a Wilken pick to me, high floor low ceiling mediocrity. Bleh We really need more 4th outfielders. Sounds like Brett Jackson. NEBRASKA they're not our problem any more!

    I only saw Bundy once this year. The other time I saw him he was a freshman 1B for Sperry. To my uneducated eye, Bundy's breaking pitch looked tighter, and Bradley's fastball was much harder. I guess it's an exponential thing since Bundy is supposed to be 95-97. Somehow 99-101 looks more impressive. It might have to do with Bradley physically passing the eye test. Bundy is a workout warrior, but he's pretty unassuming looking when he's not on the mound. Bradley looks like a monster in person.

    Absolutely. You've seen him play, have you not? Many times. His velocity unlike anything I've seen that close up before. I didn't see him at the beginning of this year when he was "struggling" but at the end of the year his velocity was just unnatural.
