    Really? A decade of failed prospects that people got excited about because they put up great stats in A ball. Jones cant even compare to some of those guys. He is doing exactly what you'd expect a 23 year old 1B to do in the Midwest League. He is the definition of an organizational guy. He (and Rohan earlier in the season) has been used to prop up a bad Peoria offense so that the club has a chance to win and to keep fans coming to games. i was agreeing

The 18-year-old has lived up to expectations by showing excellent receiving skills with a plus arm while surprising with his bat, hitting .340/.375/.566 in limited action for the Cubs complex team in Arizona. He might not be ready for a full-season assignment in 2012, but this summer's performance gives him a better chance to do so.

    Currently ranked just below Alabama and LSU. Well, that's a preseason poll, the coaches poll even. They, and OSU for that matter, have too many losses on their schedule to finish the year in the top 10. We know nothing about Alabama's QB(s) and we know A LOT about LSU's (he sucks). I don't think A&M is a title contender, but writing them off as also-rans sounds pretty foolish. The point wasn't even really about this year, it's that aTm is more Arkansas than Alabama. The SEC will chew them up and spit them out far more often than they'll be able to rise to the top of a division that has Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Arkansas Kansas finished the top 10 and Alabama finished unranked as little as 4 years ago. I dont disagree that A&M isn't in Alabama's class as a program, but I don't think it's a big leap to say that they're better off in a beefed up SEC than in a disintegrating BIg 12. I'd be shocked if the Big 12 makes it five more years. Might as well get out while you can get in the SEC instead of waiting and watching your options dwindle.

    The main reason we want to make this move is so that we're no longer the little brother. As long as we stay with Texas that will always be the case. The SECede shirts are over the top but if it helps get the message to our administration that we're fed up with the status quo then it's all good. I guess you won't be little brother anymore. I'm not sure what you'll be in the SEC, though, when you're getting pounded annually by Bama, Florida, LSU, Auburn, etc. Is that really a better move for aTm? yeah i was gonna say, they'll go from "little brother" in the big xii to "not really relevant" in the sec. they're still a pretty big player in the big xii; in the sec they're just another team. Currently ranked just below Alabama and LSU.

    That's probably because Castro doesn't weakly ground out to second base (or shortstop, since he's a righty) every other at-bat like 4-3 did. A few folks seemed to get perverse pleasure from pointing out that Pierre led the NL in outs made when he was with the Cubs in '06. Guess who's leading this year. ichiro, mutha [expletive] Ichiro isn't in the NL, partner. ALL THESE RULES
