  1. everyone is fully aware that Kyle Schwarber might not exactly be hot fire when he steps to the plate and this might not work at all. But no one cares right now because it's fun as horsefeathers that KYLE horsefeathering SCHWARBER IS GONNA BE AT THE PLATE, THAT'S INSANELY BAD ASS. ITS THE THUGGISH RUGGISH BONE FOR GODS SAKES
  2. good point, we should DH w/soler instead, who is guaranteed to be bad --------------other stuff "The Cubs have Schwarber available, so why wouldn’t they use him? Because he’s rusty? Maybe his bat is just un-tired. Probably didn’t think of that." that's an awesome line from that Brisbee article lol. he's great I'd have assumed they'd DH Contreras and start Montero or Ross. Montero and Ross, a couple of big bats for sure
  3. it's baseball, so, to be honest, i don't think there's a particularly wide chasm between either of those possibilities. and a whole lot of other good ones in between. Hell, if I'm wrong, that means great things are happening and it'll be awesome, but I just have a hard time believing he's going to be any good right now. Maybe I severely underrate Schwarber as a hitter or something; I'm just not nearly as hype as pretty much everyone else here. I don't get it. good point, we should DH w/soler instead, who is guaranteed to be bad --------------other stuff "The Cubs have Schwarber available, so why wouldn’t they use him? Because he’s rusty? 4. A second completely unnecessary post that is not intended to do anything but bring about unnecessary confrontation. horsefeathers the heck off
  5. We'll be sure and let you know how it turns out

  7. Maybe I'm just old and dead inside, or maybe I'm haunted by the fact that we were bad in 2012, but this stuff just doesn't feel as transcendent as it did when I was a kid or even in my 20s. If they win in game 5 while I'm out doing other things, I'll check my phone and see that they won and be happy. I'll watch all the replays and buy some merchandise and read the threads. Hell, if any of the games I'm home for turn into a five-hour extra inning monstrosity, I might just wait till the morning for the end of those too. If this is how you feel, what the hell are you doing even posting on a Cubs message board? who else is there for him to communicate with
  8. if there was any chance of re-aggravation he wouldn't be taking swings in teh horsefeathering AFL that's for sure
  9. Yeah. I mean the downside is he goes 0-3 or 0-4 or something instead of what Coghlan or maybe Soler vs. a righty would've done. The downside would be him trying to run the bases and aggravating the newly reconstructed knee. i mean he's doing that in AFL anyway so i'd rather just take the shot in the WS but that's just me.
  10. im hella emotional irl but no
  11. lol its so weird to see this in (digital) print
  12. there's not a sports league I continue caring about once my team is dead. The last time I actively rooted for a team that wasn't one of my own was the 2004 Boston Red Sox, because it was kinda cool and because I told everyone i knew when they were down 3-0 that they had a chance to come back and it played out exactly how i said it might. Other than that, i couldn't care less.
  13. Oh God, they've let in Jason Parks and the hipsters. Pabst Blue Ribbon lockerroom celebration!!! lmao i forgot about him. How ironic that he blocked me on twitter (before he was with the cubs) because i trolled him all teh time about how good javy baez was
  14. thats really cool

  16. Holy horsefeathers this is still sinking in. Like I don't even know what to do with myself right now. I grew up a Cubs fan in Oklahoma because i would visit my grandparents for long stretches in the summer and me and my grandpa would watch games every day at 1 oclock. Now here we are. Im numb as hell. Will anyone sleep?
  17. im pretty freaking numb right now to be honest
  18. lmao at the cameras catching coletti trying to get laid
  19. its just a matter of time before we string a couple xbh's against Kershaw. If he goes more than 5 ill be shocked
  20. can someone put this in the OP just in case we really need it?
