  5. Hiya guys I'm posting this all the way from Scotland. I must admit I know next to nothing about baseball and have never watched or played it, it's not a big thing over here. Anyway the reason I'm posting is the length of time it's been since the Cubs won the world series, 1908 I believe. I support a football club (soccer) in Scotland called Hibernian FC. and we recently (May) smashed a hoodoo of our own. We hadn't won the Scottish Cup since 1902 (114 years!) and we have had to put up with fans of every other club in Scotland, and especially our city rivals Hearts, goading us because of the fact. Every year when Scottish Cup time came round, the press would mention how long it had been, and tell us what had happened in the time since we last won it (Buffalo Bill was still alive, world war 1 & 2, the berlin wall) etc etc. and the Cubs would also get the odd mention every so often. I also read the bit about the goat curse. We also got labelled with a curse, the story goes that Hibs took the club crest off the side of the stadium back in the, i think, 40's. The club is of Irish heritage and the crest was an Irish harp. A gypsy apparently put a curse on us, and said we wouldn't win the cup again until we did. Last year we put the club crest back up! Then Won it! The crest was different, but still included the Harp. Well we finally done it in May, and the outpouring of emotion was unbelievable, there was 25,000 of us at the final, all I could see round me was grown men cry, and yes I did too. the scenes back in the city of Edinburgh, with 150,000 of us on the streets will live with me forever Well I'm just on here to let you know, it can be done, and you have a green & white army in Scotland behind you!! I thought id leave you with a couple of videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnJnOnDxCWo and our club anthem sung by 25,000 And here's a photo of the parade Good luck!! You can do it!!
