  1. ultimately maybe its for the best because the dodgers and or stros would have pantsed us this year anyway. We can even-year-bullsh!t the league next year when they're both rest off their world series tie
  2. Maybe Russell would have better luck at the plate if he just threw his bat at the ball
  3. joe's gotta get used to the fact that he's managing the 2017 cubs rotation and not the 2016 cubs rotation
  4. All of next season's Cubs game threads can be in here
  5. its weird to me when people say baseball is good because, to me, it is bad
  6. lol i just turned this game on and back off in the span of 8 seconds, i believe that's a new record for me
  7. if his batting average was driven by singles, that would be good. But it was driven by dongs, which shows he's not a hitter!
  8. all schwarber did in AAA was walk, dong and K. they should send him more downer until he learns to be a hitter
  9. I guess Stroman is the point where it would be acceptable to give up Eloy.
  10. oh hey that's Dexter's kill shirt hahahha holy horsefeathers
  11. it just seems like so many considering a pitcher gets so few defensive opportunities.
  12. [tweet] [/tweet] except they did that because Tampa's scouts can't make it there UNTIL TOMORROW
  13. I was looking at fangraphs' all-time defensive WAR to see what weird names would show up, and #42 on the list is ... Greg Maddux???? How is this possible? His defensive WAR is so high (185.6) that despite his sub .400 OPS in 752 at bats, it gives him a hysterical positive career oWAR of 1.8. horsefeathering hell, Tom Glavine is 61st with 169.1 and a 6.3 oWAR despite a .454 OPS in 709. Was this the Braves' secret or something, what the h*ck
  14. about 500 times better than his WS game 7 call

  16. i can taste the meatbally takes already
  17. Playing at a 4 WAR pace and his K rate (thanks to the bad stretch a month or so ago) is still sitting at 30 percent. Imagine if he could pull a KB and get that to 20 percent next year...

    NBA Offseason

the underrated upside to the PG deal is even if he bolts after a year, we're out from under the 4/84 left on Oladipo's contract.
  19. god dang it it was a good effort otherwise tho shooters shoot
  20. Been a pretty fringy prospect for a few years, mainly as a defensive catcher, but having a breakthrough with the bat this year. Acquired him from the Braves for James Russell a few years back, so it already feels like a win. how many times can one man be wrong in the span of four posts lets find out
  21. except i was right, dummy god dang it
  22. pretty sure that's james russell, not hammel. Those 3 never played together
  23. I'm pretty sure this was Montero's goal so I'm sure he's fine.
  24. what if its a legit auto and our beefy lad doesnt actually know how to spell
