If possible, the idea of lowering the limit to 12 hours after round four sounds decent. I would hate to see us go to autodraft. On the whole though, I think the draft is going well. We always get frustrated because it drags on. Thanks Tim for setting up the draft etc...

I wonder if this will open up the floodgates to Cuban baseball talent. IFA draft, here we come. I would love it if Loria were forced to sell the Marlins and the moved to Havana I was thinking the same thing. While it would be good for baseball, financially would it make any sense? -

Not sure if this has been posted, and I am not sure if anyone cares, but ... The Reds announced Monday they released minor-league reliever Carlos Marmol, according to MLB.com. The move comes a few months after Marmol left the team's Triple-A affiliate. Marmol signed with Cincinnati in late May and made three appearances for Louisville before returning home to the Dominican Republic without permission from the club.

True enough. Though each team has its own philosophy and the Cubs has changed. I saw Shark's debut. Angel Guzman ...Sean Marshall...several other pitching prospects...Colvin, Clevenger, Schierholtz(Giants)...and other hitters. But yes... the best draft prospects can normally start at a higher level. Many young prospects start at Mesa and then skip a level. But our current philosophy has had both Bryant and Schwarber start at Boise. IMHO...Earlier they would have gone directly to the MWL. One of the main reasons for that is the earlier signing deadline. True. I also had the chance to see Panik.

Surprised not to see Burke on the list. Crawford was intriguing. While raw, I liked his left handed swing. I think it could generate some power in the future.
