  1. How fitting. A last minute -11 pts from Cueto and my season is over.
  2. Woo. I made the play-offs. Talk about backing in. Ceervelli - C Pujols - 1b Panik - 2b Arenado - 3b Bogaerts - ss Gutierrez - of McCutchen - of Pederson - of Mauer - dh Puig - DL Pitchers Cueto Kazmir Nola Ramos Sanchez Ventura Zimmerman Gausman Lynn Severino
  3. Sorry. I am playing Lynx this week, so I was not paying much attention. It seems that I have 8 starts.
  4. I believe Eugene is playing against Spokane tonight.
  5. Some comments about last night's Eugene vs SK contest. It was played in very smokey conditions. The smoke from many large fires in eastern Oregon and Washington has drifted into the Willamette valley. Preston Morrison has a side armed delivery. Eugene has hit a league low 22 home runs so far this season. In contrast, SK has a league leading 50. Dela Rosa and Jimenez both make me feel old. They were born in 1996. Shoot, my honda was made in 1999. Dela Rosa had a tough game defensively, 3 errors. He made the last one fielding a routine ground ball in the ninth that would have ended the game with a Eugene victory. Instead the tying run scored and SK won in the 10th.
  6. Seems to me that the small ball approach was not always the case for the Cubs SS team. I am not certain if it is a reflection of philosophy or just what this team is capable of.
  7. I was able to attend last night's game between Eugene and SK. The Good, bad and ugly. Good Donnie Dewees - Seemed to be able to slap the ball through holes in the infield at will. Once on the paths he was aggressive, stealing 3 bases, He looked good in center. Great jumps on the ball and showed a strong arm. Andrew Ely - Seemed to be able to slap the ball through holes in the infield at will. Eloy Jimenez - He also had a few nice singles. (It seems that the whole Eugene team was playing small ball. He did have a nice sac fly when the situation called for it. I would have liked to seen him drive the ball with more authority, but I guess that will come with time. He seemed to have no desire to steal. Alex Bautista - He made a fantastic diving catch in right field that even had the SK faithful buzzing with praise. Bad Ryna Kellogg - A big man. He looked tentative. Not much velocity...nibbling at corners. His defense did not help him. I thought they had him on a pitch count (and judging by the above post this appears to be true.) If this is the best he can do, then I am not impressed, but I do not think he was. Adbert Alzolay - He pitched better than his stats would indicate. A two run HR and he was roughed up in his last inning of work. Ugly Vimael Machin - He had a rough start defensively at third. A couple of wild throws. But later on, once he settled down, he actually showed a very strong accurate arm and superior range. He is just up from Arizona, so I attributed his early miscues to jitters. He looked over matched at the plate though. The post game fireworks were canceled due to the extremely dry conditions in the area. Intelligent choice by the management, but a bummer none-the-less.
  8. Thanks for your post Duke =D>
  9. I saw Cael play for Boise. I thought he was too big to play catcher and because of his size he would have troubles handling the inside part of the plate. But every time I saw him, he did well.
  10. Wow! I won. A nice comeback victory for the Quakers. Could it be that I actually have an offense now? Feel sorry for my opponent. Calvinball scored 349 points only to lose.
  11. I seem to have the most amazing ability to pick relievers this year....not. :banghead:
  12. I think my team is better than it is showing. The first week was great, but since then...injuries, McCutcheon below .200....
  13. Whatever the rule is, it must be simple. Trying to remember who has messed up three times could be a problem.
  14. Wilson had 27 points earlier in the week. Teheran had 27 today. But Weaver had -7 and Shields had -2 later on today. Both had about the same starting time. If the rule is the high start of the week, then I will win. If the rule is the best start of the last day, then I will win. If the rule is the last start, then which pitcher do you choose? I think Wilson and Shields started at the same today. But since they both had negative points, tragic would win. Commish...What say yee?
  15. Tragic illness is working on its 8th start of the week.
  16. Arg....I went to bed thinking that I had won. I guess I didn't notice that my opponent had players in the late game:(
  17. With Rizzo's penchant for getting hit, I wouldn't object at all to keeping Vogelbach. Let him DH against the AL(and hope NL adopts it), while being the 1st PH option off the bench and spotting Rizzo 5-10 games a year at 1B. 250 AB's from him could be of use to a good team. I agree.
  18. My score is off. I think it is beacuse i picked up Aaron Sanchez off the waiver wire. I was busy so i did not have time to check until later on in the afternoon.
  19. Is he the one who pitched in the military? No. That was someone else, but the name eludes me.
  20. Quakers

    Week 1

I think it was changed to just losing your last start.
  21. Quakers

    Week 1

    That makes sense.
  22. Hey Raw, do you know that we are having the minor league draft?
