  1. You may be correct about this, but I'm only dealing in the best lineup that we can produce based on our current roster, not what we could or should have signed this year (ahem... JD Drew.... cough).
  2. Not so much confused as completely wrong. Floyd is a lefty. Too many beers in lab (don't ask). I'll fix it immediately.
  3. We all know that you don't lose consistently for 100 years unless you have a plan of wrong action on the table, and we've got it in spades. Here is the best lineup we can muster, one that will actually score runs and not forfeit three consecutive outs every time through the lineup. Murton RF Theriot SS Lee 1B Ramirez 3B Soriano LF Barrett C DeRosa 2B Pie CF Pitcher Spot RH PH Please go get somebody LH PH Floyd LH PH Ward Never gets to play ever: Izturis, Cedeno This puts all our best threats on the field and gives us the best chance of scoring in any given inning. This does assume that Pie can handle the show (if not, put in Jones I guess...). On base at the top followed by power, and as much OBP as you can fit in a lineup given our roster throughout. Thoughts?
  4. He's yet another horrid offensive SS that can make defensive plays that old time baseball guys seem to value for no statistical reason.
  5. Why is Murton pissing you off? Is it because he's been thrust only into end game situations as a young player against pitchers he's never faced in his only AB of the game? Is it because Lou is putting him in that spot? Is it because the Cubs system hates OBP and tries to remove that quality from his plate approach? Which one is it?
  6. Lou is rapidly descending the ranks of bad managers. Ronny is terrible at nearly every facet of the offensive game. The Cubs are the worst team money can buy. This team is worse than last year's after a 300 million dollar makeover.
  7. WGN does not show OBP. Its comcast that does.
  8. Braves fans are just better than us, and it shows on their telecast. They discuss a player's OBP and walks every time he comes to the plate, and discuss plate discipline. Meanwhile, WGN refuses to agree to OBP's existence as long as Hendry is GM. Nice RGI* by Izturis. RGI=Run Gloved IN
  9. Still not as annoying as some college basketball arenas where a large group wears the same color shirt and spends the game bouncing up and down. You mean like Orange Krush!! We are awesome, thank you very much, and cannot be stopped. The orange tide rises again this fall! In conclusion, Jackie Robinson.
  10. This team is garbage. I can't imagine wasting 300 million dollars so deftly.
  11. Iowa is calling Matt. Do people realize that Matt is hitting nearly .300 right now? He's above league average. The answer is no. They don't realize it. I think it dropped alot today, though. :x
  12. Matt Murton is a big reason why. You're not kidding today.
  13. Better bench Murton forever, then! Stop being dramatic. I'm just saying, through what I've seen of the season, Floyd's been a better player. And we NEED to win right now, not play Murton for the heck of it. You disagree with either of those statements? There don't seem to be many people who think we can win this year. Everyone is like "Floyd is old, what happens then?" Right now, Floyd is producing, Murton isn't. In this weak division, anyone can win, and as last year showed, all you need to do is make the playoffs and then ANYTHING can happen. Thank you! I keep hearing that Murton isn't producing, but he clearly did yesterday, if we want to play the sample size game. He's had a rough day today, but there is another thing to be concerned with Floyd's durability. Cliff clearly is playing on his last tendon strands, and it doesn't look that good. We can't continue to play him all the time. We really can't, because his career will end due to achilles injury. Theriot is not an OF for this team, as much as a hot start he has gotten off to. Beyond this, Murton is better than Jacque, who we should unload anyhow. This is a marathon, not a sprint. If we needed to win three of four to make the playoffs, then play fast and loose, but to risk Floyd so early or bench Murton because of a few bad games so early in the season when he is only spot starting anyhow isn't just dumb, its criminally negligent.
  14. If only to give him more trade value, then yes. Oh, and the win.
  15. What an idiot. WHy would they even sew that up for him. Because he's so classy.
  16. At least he can't take Murton out now. Cosign, although today has been a rough day for him, and there's no Mabry on the bench to replace him. I guess Floyd, but he can't play EVERY day, can he?
  17. I feel like Miller looks like a trailer park toxic waste version of Wood.
  18. Wade Miller is not a great pitcher. I don't expect to win a single game that he pitches.
