  1. They actually were talking about this on espn 1000 out of chicago earlier today, maybe 2:30 or 3:00. Yes, I personally heard it.
  2. I think that'd be about the same, if not better with Soto starting. Well I figured it wouldn't be that good just with losing Soto's bat for Hill's. Although Soto hasn't been that great but still better than Koyie at the plate. I don't really care if he can hit out of a paper bag if we're 42-23 with him starting. You're a fool to not look up from the spreadsheet and see that Koyie is making a difference in games in other ways than his bat.
  3. God you're a troll. So after a couple good weeks from Soriano, the guy starts a thread made to throw it back in the faces of people who thought Soriano was fine batting leadoff the past couple years, and I'm the troll? Nice. I'm not even saying I think he should be moved back. I'm fine with him batting in the middle right now. I just thought it was pretty obnoxious to act like we were all idiots for thinking he was fine batting leadoff and to try and throw it back in our faces, like something had been proven. Man, I know there might have been the scattered few dissenters, but about 99% of us wanted Soriano moved out of leadoff for what, the last three years probably. No one's being obnoxious.
  4. This is exactly what came to mind for me. Valverde is worse than Soriano could ever hope to be.
  5. Fred, seriously, I love you. Thanks for taking the time out of your days to provide us with the stats.
  6. Let's keep this gravy train on the tracks!!
  7. Really, LaTroy? Really?
  8. Elaborate why? Are pitchers adjusting to him? Is he wearing down?
  9. Ozzie was definitely who I was referring to, it's just who came to mind. Eh, that's too bad. You'd think they'd find a way to both make money AND make everyone happy. The only reason this is bothering me is I was also thinking of trying to obtain a Dawson or Maddux Cubs jersey in the near future. Anyway, thanks for the info/reasoning. :)
  10. That's ridiculous. What if it was for a player with a common last name like Smith?
  11. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Duncan_(baseball)
  12. Tried it. "SOSA 21" won't go through per the retired players rule. Seriously? What is the reasoning behind that?
  13. I think that's exactly what happened, actually.
  14. Well this obviously is a negative for us and the rest of the division. But I'd be infinitely more concerned if they had acquired Halladay...if that's even worth mentioning.
  15. Pat is the best. It's so similar to an older brother taking care of his younger sibling...while just happening to be on live radio covering Cubs games.
  16. what about unit in what, 04 or 05?
  17. Ugh, I thought the same thing. I actually believed him for once. It was that good of a catch in the context.
  18. Let them have their moment guys. At least we have an off day today to let them have their day in the sun.
  19. I can't even hate on it. That catch was amazing considering the context.
  20. For the upcoming series, I wouldn't throw a pitch within 2 feet of the zone against Votto. I think you're pretty much money if you do that. That lineup is so terrible, and Votto so hot, you have to give him the Pujols treatment for the series. But yea, good win today. Too bad we couldn't of scraped off a run yesterday and caught a win, but meh, I'll take a 5-2 RT as a whole.
