  2. In all honesty today really wasnt fair to Rusin at all. Villanueva just sucks though.
  3. Yea - my facebook thread is full of people complaining about "acquiring more shortstops" - cubs fans are pretty stupid
  4. I feel like Straily will be pretty equatable to Hammel soon enough, I almost look at this trade as just Shark for Russel/McKinney
  5. 1. Addison Russell, Position: SS, Age: 20 Profile: How’s this for breaking tradition: The Oakland A’s, who popularized taking collegiate players early and often in the draft, made 24 consecutive picks in the first round between before taking a high schooler (Jeremy Bonderman in 2001 to Russell in 2012). Russell, the 11th pick in the draft, continued his accelerated path towards the majors last season, dominating high Class A at the tender age of 19. Analysis: Above-Average power, plate discipline and speed, Russell should help stop the organization’s revolving door at shortstop for, oh, about a decade or so. Middle-of-the-order type bat with the chops to handle the position, he looks like a potential .320/.440/.540-type hitter, capable of swatting 30 bombs and grabbing 15 to 20 bags. Ceiling: 6.5- to 7.0-win player Likelihood of Reaching His Ceiling: Moderate to Above-Average

  8. I really hope it works out for both teams. We got great value, and Oakland has a bulletproof rotation for the playoffs.
  9. I feel like an overtrusting fat girl with no confidence
  10. WHO CARES WE GOT RUSSELL http://i.imgur.com/fuc7i1w.gif
  11. Wada is the only one out of that group I'd say that about - he's been pretty good this year, more than a K an inning and 4:1
  12. An argument over if Bryant will be a 4 or 5 WAR player in his rookie year sounds like a fun argument to me! I hope we have more of those types of things said as this year and next progresses...."I see Alcantara as a 750 OPS guy" "Nah, more like 810"
  13. Hammel has a lot of value to me - more than Feldman or Maholm did for sure. 1.01 WHIP going into todays start - check out the location on some of his pitches today too -- bullseyes. Also his slider was in total wipeout mode today. He's rolling. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2014_07_04_chnmlb_wasmlb_1&mode=video&content_id=34282281&tcid=vpp_copy_34282281
  14. Bryant the Destroyer will be worth at minimum a 5 WAR next year
