Wow, didn't know that. Compulsory in Japan - everyone does it. Same in China - I was so concerned about being able to speak Mandarin before I went, then I learned everyone <30 speaks English in urban areas.
We're really splitting hairs here - but I think he was just saying he'd like a veteran catcher to call the game instead of Castillo. I dunno. I doubt it matters that much, not like Wada is a rookie.
Not impressed with his command so far - if he keeps throwing that 83mph slider or whatever it is over the middle of the plate its going to be bad news eventually. Also not a lot of velocity difference between his pitches. I dunno, he's getting people out though.
