    Perhaps but Juan almost lost it out of the glove and had that happened, it likely would have been over the wall for a Canseco-esque bounce of HR fortune. That would almost have been better. Bonds ties Babe on a cheapy. Yeah, that's what I was just thinking. It would have been absolutely fitting for him to hit the ball most of the way, and then get a little help... just like the rest of his career. Much unlike #713 - that was a monter shot. I would love to see the scuff mark on that thing. Hell, there were probably two.

    Once, while standing near the visitor's bullpen before a Marlins game during batting practice at Wrigley, I watched Juan Pierre play catch with one of the Marlins' pitchers. Juan was standing around 2nd base and the pitcher was standing right in front of the wall behind the bullpen. Juan threw the ball, the pitcher failed to catch it, and it hit a little kid in the head. The kid cried for a few seconds, but everyone knew he wasn't hurt because it was a Juan Pierre throw. A bunch of Marlins pitchers autographed the ball for the kid, by the way. It was probably Steve Bartman's little brother.

    The difference is that Johnny Damon is an all around better center fielder, through and through. I don't disagree. However, that still doesn't make him throw any harder than my mom. Your momma's so weak that she throws like Juan Pierre!! ooooohh buurrrrrrnnn. :getyou:

    Fun drinking fact: Ordering a "double" at a bar screws you. For some reason that I cannot remember right now, you don't actually get double the alcohol.

    Perhaps he is being particularly deceptive tonite. The Giants may be sitting on that big, slow curve, and if his fastball is coming out of his hand the same, they may be loading up and not able to adjust to the speed.
