  1. These are the same people who had no problem giving Wood a few a big contract in '03 even though he had the same problems. Wood's problem was run support and walks, nothing from 02 and 03 would suggest that his career would drop like it has.
  2. Kendall has been flat out raking it this month, wow. even his outs have been hit hard.
  3. Sorry maybe you like giving $18.3 million a year to a pitcher with control issues and a 3.88 ERA who saves his worst performances for the stretch of a pennant race, but I pass. The question is, do you really want to take back the contract?? Seriously, Is this game the one that sealed it for you. NO, obviously I'm overreacting to the emotions of the game. Duh. I don't know why people call out such obvious comments like mine i was just asking

His worst performances were in April and May, but I understand your frustration 7.04 ERA in August (23 IP) 5.77 ERA in April (34.1 IP) 4.72 ERA in May (34.1 IP) well kiss my grits

  7. Reporter: "Talk about your decision not to walk Matt Cain with first base open." Lou: "ITS THE *^&&^&* PITCHER!!!"
  8. this game is stupid... cain has been hit hard every inning, and somehow we cant score.
  9. Why do you ask? it would seem like a pretty solid game wisconsin vs. wazzou, but I know the pac ten like i know Aramaic Oh, ok, I see what you're asking. Well, Wazzu will probably be fine, but Wisconsin's a very, very good team playing at home. I don't think the Cougs have much of a chance. hey andy, your ball st cardinals are playing my wisconsin-milwaukee panthers in basketball... i might have to make a trip to muncie.
  10. we are hitting cain hard. its only a matter of time when we get to him.... just as I type this, nice hit font!!!
  11. my best friend(brewer fan) just called me asking if it was true that soriano is on track to get back for the series next week. I said yeah he looks like he has been healing quite fast. He started swearing up a storm: "this has been the worst *^&*&*& month ever!!!!"
  12. I really like this pickup. good bench guy for the home stretch.
  13. Are they trying to set a record for most consecutive names beginning with "R" to start a line up? they could be setting the record for the worst major league lineup ever?
  14. Ted Lilly...great Marquis...decent. Soriano...ok. DeRosa...great Howry...meh Lee.. good for the money, he hasnt been the same since the contract signing Wood.. good he is back, pitching ok, for 1 a million Prior.. bad Miller.. meh, he should have signed with the cardinals, it would have saved his career Eyre...meh Rammy...amazing Z...good because he wont be playing for someone else next year Neifi Perez...great as a dfa pickup, beyond bad as a 2 year contract extension Glendon Rusch...same as perez Jose Macias...OMG!!! TERRIBLE!!!! Mike Remlinger...bad Jeromy Burnitz...good Jacque Jones...solid yet unspectacular... if he continues for the rest of the year this turns to good
  15. Oh yeah, and the maddening thing about Brock was he wasn't very good with us at all. Then he goes from us to the Cards, mid-season, and it wasn't like he waited for another year or two of development to kick in. Oh no, that would be too logical. Instead he starts tearing up for the Cards immediately, and really never looked back. Brock never hit over 100 OPS+ for us, ever. He didn't dip under 100 OPS+ for the Cards until 1977, well into his senior years as a pro. And he went from 77 to 146 midseason, magically, in his trade year. If there was ever an example of this, it's Brock. Good call. i just accepted that brock was this mega superstar in the making and we traded him away for a box of peanuts and a rubberband.. the truth when I actually looked at numbers and read more about it was that brock was a middling prospect who couldnt hit and couldnt field for us and we traded him straight up for a 20 game winner who just happened to hurt himself.
  16. This isn't old. At all. Hendry's crappy signings are. Ted Lilly...good. Marquis...decent. Soriano...good. DeRosa...good. Howry...good. Eyre...decent. Rammy...good. Z...good. Neifi Perez...bad Glendon Rusch...bad Jose Macias...bad Mike Remlinger...bad Jeromy Burnitz...GOOD Jacque Jones...decent out of that group..when was the last deal made? what's your point? they were still deals made by Hendry. i fixed that for you, so that you didnt sound stupid So you're saying that the Jones signing was decent and the Burnitz signing was good? Burnitz had a .770 OPS that season he played for the Cubs. That's not good for a corner outfielder. Jones was decent last year, but has been pretty awful this year outside of a good couple of weeks. Jones was a big bargain last year and has been about the same amount overpaid this year. Through 1 2/3 years, he's given about as much production as could be expected for his contract. It will be the last 1 1/3 years that will figure out if it was a good deal or not. and CCP with the assist....

Burnitz's OPS was due to his inability to get on base(.322) but he was more than adaquate slugging. and for 1 year 5 million and getting 24 hr and 87 rbi's that is a fine signing. that whole team could not get on base. we hate jones because of the length of the contract, but again for 5 mil a year, last I agree his first hald this year was beyond terrible, but he has been good the entire second half, so for that signing he has been good for more than half of that time.
