  1. Normal agent talk IMO. Try and get as much money as you can by telling the media ridiculous #'s and saying you're open to playing anywhere. Remember last year and Beltran's 10-year hopes. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Kind of like Raffy can't cook without the dough. He just wants to gets the Mets in increasing the offers.
  2. Dusty Baker would never bat Dunn 2nd, ever. Dunn would be 4th between Lee and Ramirez because of the almighty R/L/R. Thats one of my fears. Dunn taking away rbi chances from Aram is bad. Dun creating more run scoring chances for Lee and Aram is good. it doesn't matter who gets the RBI. what matters is maximizing the total runs scored by our lineup. im fully aware of that, but plugging in Dunn at 4th he will not drive in near as many runs as Aram with runners in position. Putting Dunn on base in front of Lee and Aram create more and better chances for the two best hitters, especially if Furcal gets on base

  4. If you can hit Furcal and Dunn 1 and 2 this team will actually score a of runs. If Furcal gets on base, Dunn will see more fastballs than he ever has in his life hitting front of Lee and Aram to of the better hitters w risp.
  5. KU should have beaten them last year. We got jobbed by the officials. We also have the 5th best defense in the country, and they have the potential to keep us in games. That said, the opening line was 35 points. I expect KU to keep it closer than that. So do I, but Texas might finally be 100% healthy on offense for the first time in a while. Its going to be interesting to see how they play the 4 head backfield of Vince Young, Selvin Young, Jammal Charles, and Ramonce Taylor. Taylor will probably slot out to WR, but we saw last week why he needs to touch the ball 10+ time a game. Texas wins 38-10
  6. I care. I love hearing Nebraska lost. Me too. Who gets canned first Callahan or Fran. for A&M. A&M final 3 games are against Tech, Oklahoma, and Texas, currently with a 5-3 record.

    1st, D Lee - 676.8 2nd, Utley (3rd Exempt) SS, Young - 551.2 U, Howard (1st Exempt) OF, Tavarez (2nd Exempt) C, Lopez - 272.0 3rd, Arron Hill - (1st Exempt) Cliff Lee - 377.4 Schmidt - 322.7 Grienke - (2nd Exempt) Sisco - (1st Exempt) 2201.1 Total Points
  9. Not really, considering the opponent. OSU isn't winless in the Big 12 because of bad luck. Ok, you're right - but coming back from a 19-point halftime deficit on the road is still impressive. Vince The Great
  10. fell behind 35-7 last year at halftime.
  11. A fatter payroll, sweet lounge chairs, and personal entertainment systems in every locker is not what we need. what about the google guys.
  12. Time to turn attention towards Aubrey Huff.
  13. As expected Texas leads 45-17 towards the end of the 3rd quarter. There really is no reason for any voter in the country to vote VT in front of Texas outside of pure hatred spite.
  14. Yes it's possible for a player to make less through arbitration, but it can't be more than a certain percentage of a paycut(the number fails me now). Most of the time a player that would get that much of a paycut will be non-tendered to try and renegotiate at any price, since he's not that valuable to begin with. Patterson is an unusual case. He's put up acceptable production for his position in the past, but he was terrible this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he made less, the same, or more. I don't think you could expect Zambrano's salary to double, but my guess is that he gets a raise to the 5-6 million range. From what I have, Hairston is a free agent. Almost positive he can't get a paycut of less than 20% through arbitration, although it could be 25%.
  15. that was great, he feels no presuure what so ever from the defense. just takes whatever they give him and still scores.
  16. are you just talking about the reg. season or offseason as well?
  17. Corpus is the AA of the Astros when Round Rock went to AAA. We had Backe and Bagwell down here for a couple of games earlier. Very nice stadium out on the bay overlooking the Harbor Bridge., and brought in by Nolan Ryan. The city is finally growing after years of standing pat and changing nothing.
  18. Speaking of which, saw a piece in last week's Sporting News stating UT could be this season' Auburn - undefeated yet, no shot at the Rose Bowl also, metioned the Horns as low as 8th in the 1st BCS standings. All I can say is the team I saw beat OSU looked like a NC contender to me. ESPN's BCS projections this morning have Texas #2 now. We'll find out in a couple of hours. Texas should be #2.
  19. It will be a great game, as Tech gets very little respect even after blasting Cal last year. Still I think the difference in the game is defense as Texas wins. Should be a lot of fun watching the Tech WR's, vs the Texas DB.
  20. yes and no. I am actually a little happy for a few players on the Astros who I do have a lot of respect for and who have never been their and deserve it somewhat. Especially compared to the likes of Edmonds and Morris. It helps to be distracted by college football as well. 1st BCS standings comeout today.
  21. I am fairly sure they will. Problem is Colorado gets very little respect, so anything close looks bad on Texas. I am hoping Texas can get a quick 14 point lead, in which case I think we could see a blow out. If Colorado can stay close after the 1st quarter, I expect they will play tough. The key for them will be their running game, just to control the clock.
  22. within two years we will see McPherson, Wood, and Kendrick at 3rd, SS, and 2nd. I wonder were all that money saved will go. Angels will be very good for the next 5 years.
  23. I hate Mark May. ND will win. Mark May sat next to Trev Alberts for a couple of years. That made May look like a genius.
  24. I have Penn State at #8 in front of LSU, its a bit of a stretch but after yesterday and seeing their defense for the first time I think they deserve to jump in front of a good 1 loss team. Texas gets some seperation between them and VT. UCLA should be #10, maybe even #9 I just can't see them making a 10+ jump in the rankings. 1 USC 2 Texas 3 VT 4 Georgia 5 FSU 6 Bama 7 Miami 8 Penn St. 9 LSU 10 Notre Dame 11 Flroida 12 Texas Tech 13 UCLA
  25. Great game, Texas didn't even play that great but they knocked the crap out of Bomar. Its a good thing Vince Young can't throw the ball at all.
