  1. He's basically already lost an arm. His throwing arm. Shoulder surgery that will likely not have long-term effects. The last time I can remember a top 5 pick getting seriously hurt was McGahee. And the Bills took him 23rd overall even though they knew he was going to miss his rookie season with his devastating knee injury and had no idea how he would bounce back afterword. Bradford might actually be able to throw for NFL scouts before draft day (I haven't heard the timetable on the surgery), so that would be one advantage over McGahee. He will definitely slip because of this and quite possibly slip into the late 2nd or 3rd, but teams always take chances on potential elite talent. It's probably irrelevant anyway as he'll likely come back to school to try to drive his value back into the 1st round. If he is available I dont see the Vikings passing him up in the late 1st round. It all depends on health and the combine.
  2. Not a bad group to hopefully advance through, Group A looks like it has the potential to be brutal. Another win over Spain would be nice too.
  3. Why are they reviewing that, he recovered it in the endzone regardless of where it was stripped. I hate listening to all CBS/SEC announcers.
  4. Its fun. Every year we hear about how this is the year Notre Dame can hang with USC and will beat them. Every year the week of buildup up to the game is ESPNs wet dream. Every year Notre Dame eats doughnuts all game with Charlie Weis.1) First time in 3 years this game was built up. 2) Fat jokes aren't funny anymore. yes they are, he's fat dumb and ugly, it's perfect and still funny I support this message!
  5. He really has no excuse for missing this one. The worst part was that he was not even remotely close. He had a chance to turn and shoot a couple of minutes later but let the ball through for Donovan. Not that it wasn't the right decision, but a goal scorer would not have passed up that shot. I kind of liked what Cooper did the few minutes he played. But he still needs to learn how to use his size and strength to his advantage. I still think he could become a very good striker for us, and the Germany is a great fit for him. Torres was great. Rodgers was also solid, but his finishing was poor. And yes Healy is great, I really enjoyed listening to him.
  6. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=279543&cc=5901 It didn't look good, but his reaction was even worse. If its just 3-4 months he can still play in the WC, but his level of fitness is not going to be what it should be. Its not like he is playing much but its better than rehabing. Its been a really f'ed up couple of days now between the win, Davies, Gooch, then getting the draw tonight.
  7. It's so awesome that all of the bitching and stalling that their coaches did that probably added a minute to the end of the game ended up costing them the game. Also, this just completed a pretty good choke job. At the halfway point, they were in first place in the group and finished with three losses, a draw that they were seconds away from winning and one win over T&T. Very true, I want to see what kind of celebrations are going on tonight in Honduras.
  8. Just a random thought, but could Torres be transitioned into the role that Davies played. He's not the finisher that he is, but he can stretch the field and deliver some solid balls.
  9. Ecuador is down 1-0 helping Argentina and Uruguay.
  10. Oh dammit. We finally have a really, really good striker (note, not "forward") and this ish happens. Thats quicker than i was thinking, but I am fearing something like Larrson went through. Luckily he is young, and seems to have a great work ethic. Still it's complete sh.. I'm also worried how it could affect Altidore too, they seem real close and he is going to take this hard.
  11. sports center says doctors say it will take 6-12 months to recover.
  12. Toronto Argonauts here I come. Just kidding butters :-)
  13. Hopefully Mizzou can put some more players in the CFL.
  14. McCoy's girlfriend http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j56/ceedunk/rachel-glandorf-6-450x337-1.jpg
  15. The Alamo Bowl is not better than the Holiday Bowl. i know, i'm just saying if they do I'm afraid your boys are gonna git a beat down this comin Saturday, sonny! The Great Mack Brown got this un circled on the calender for near a year now! The real mccoy will shoot down the sooners and claim the bronzed trophy that was tragicaly stolen from him last year! Okay? Have fun with that. What's really funny is that Mccoy has never won the big XII :-)) Its not a real account
  16. No World Cup for Charlie. Terrible news. If he can play again it probably won't be for 18 months at least. Looking at the car playing again is the least of his worries for a long time though. Glad he is alive, but sorry for his loss. Tomorrow nights game is going to be interesting now just to see the players reactions.
  17. I enjoyed watching Miami tonight. More so I really enjoyed Rex Ryan being pissy. As hard as it would be to do, I think he is going to be a bigger dick than his father was.
  18. imagine if Ricky Williams actually tried to be a great RB in the NFL for the past 10 years.
  19. Everything I'm about to say is unlikely, but consider this: If Tennessee wins out (including current #2 ranked Alabama and fringe top-25 South Carolina), does that get Berry at least an invite? Tennessee very well could be ranked (albeit low) at that point and Berry likely would have played very well for us to win those games. There would also be quite a bit of talk about Tennessee unseating Alabama. I don't know, but it's a thought. Maybe. I don't see why not if Berry plas a major role. He's the best defensive player in the nation, and if he several stand out plays against Alabama and SC then its possible. Just very unlikely :-).
  20. Other guys have too much ground to make up and play on teams that won't get as much media attention. I don't really see McCoy or Tebow having that defining game based on the schedule ahead. But even if they do, its going to be hard to argue that if one of them wins it their career didn't have a huge impact on winning it this season. I may be dense, but I just don't get it. Who are these "other guys" that have too much ground to make up and don't get media attention? I mean, if Clausen wins, it's not going to be based on his performance in 2007 as a true freshman on a terrible team a few months after elbow surgery. It's going to be b/c he led a decent/good team to an 11-win season (I can't see him winning it unless ND wins out) including several 4th quarter come-from-behind Ws and a big game against USC. Clausen, Pike, Berry. Its just more based on how I think the Heisman voters vote. For career that only applies to McCoy and Tebow should one of them win the award, if Clausen wins its based solely upon this season.
  21. http://espn.go.com/college-football/heisman09/index He's definatly a candidate, and will probably be asked to attend NY assuming he doesn't get hurt. I don't think he is going to have a chance to win unless he really lights up USC. This is pretty much his only statement game that he has left on his schedule to win over voters, where others will have bigger games on schedule come the end of the regular season. Tebow isn't playing another team likely to be ranked at the end of the year until the SEC title game, and neither is McCoy until the Big 12 title game (after this week) - assuming they both make it. ND's schedule, meanwhile, is quietly not as bad as it appeared to be at the beginning of the year. Pitt appears to be the Big East favorite (inasmuch as that means a whole lot), while UConn and Stanford have shots at being 8-win teams. Navy is solid as usual. Again but as far as making a statement with Heisman voters none of them are going to be looking as much at him especially if ND lose this week. While it shouldn't work this way, this year's Heisman is going to come down more to career performance than anything that happens throughout the season. His numbers will back it up and he is a really good QB, but he is going to have too much ground to make up with no one to do it against. why do you say this year's heisman comes down to career performance more than this season's performance? Other guys have too much ground to make up and play on teams that won't get as much media attention. I don't really see McCoy or Tebow having that defining game based on the schedule ahead. 24. Does this change your mind? http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a5/JorgeS4041/claussen.jpg
  25. Maybe, just maybe a non QB can win the award this year? Eric Berry. :beg: Not happening. Tebow, Jimmy and McCoy are pretty much locked in as the top 3 right now in some order. Clausen and McCoy could fall back pretty far if they don't play well this weekend. Not exactly locks for anything right now. If Berry was on a Top 10 team he would have a shot. If they finish 7-5 its going to be way to tough for a defensive player to make it. It would be nice if he was invited to the Heisman awards though as he deserves the recognition.
