  1. Neifi must think it's April. He feels the collective breath of Nomar and Ronny.
  2. Finally Todd bloops one to stop the streek at a dozen. Stone is overly perplexed about why Hollandsworth can't be a regular starter. I change my mind about Cuban as Cubs owner, he's fun.
  3. He's no Dunn, but Dunn might not be available. I'd put Wilson up there with Kearns, if not higher. I don't think there are a lot of available guys who are better. Burrell is, but he's much more expensive contract wise.
  4. Nice thinking Neifi, good play by Ramirez as well.
  5. Who cares? Nothing wrong with showing some personality at the plate. Lee does sort of a half hop, Burnitz tends to stand there for a second during his follow through, ARam flips his bat. No big deal, at all. I disagree. Ramirez lingers much more than the rest. It has nothing to do with personality, unless your personality is hey look at me I'm great. I love the guy, but would like to see a little less of that stuff.
  6. Is that what it was, just 81 vs Texas? He's my boy.
  7. 40 pitches in 3 innings is exceptionally low pitch count. 13 pitches an inning is great. He's on pace for a 120 pitch complete game. Although it's doubtful he gets that, I wouldn't call that high or low. Exceptionally low would be under 10 per inning, something Maddux at his best and Lieber would do. High is over 16. Welcome back Mr. Ramirez.
  8. I wouldn't use him as my primary backup, but he'd be fine as a emergency guy. I wouldn't consider him utility, but I'd get him lots of starts in LF and a few at first.
  9. I'd be very interested in Wilson. One concern is that he took a step back and hasn't returned to his 2003 form. And two is that he's been injury prone. My guess is he wouldn't cost too much in terms of prospects, but he'd also be a perfect emergency catcher, and would be another reason to get rid of Macias, who might end up being a perennial utility man for the Cubs since no other GM seems to value his game besides Hendry. He is a very solid OBP man as well.
  10. I hope Wood gets the same call Fogg got on strike 1 to Hairston. Not saying it was a ball, but it was borderline lower outside corner, and when he's at his best he hits that spot a lot.
  11. Woody's evil twin didn't know what to do out there.
  12. He's the pitching equivelant of Corey Patterson *ducks* (only kidding...) no he isn't he's white. No way will Chicago turn on him like it has our players the past 4 years. Are you implying Cubs fans are racist? kinda makes one wonder. Alf Sosa Hawkins Patterson but as pointed out Hundley got it bad. But we also loved Sosa (when he was good), gave Alou a break when he sucked in 2002 and stretches of the next two years despite a big contract. We hated Alf, Sosa, Hawkins, Patterson because they sucked We also hated Estes when he sucked too Kyle wasn't exactly a beloved character.
  13. Todd swung at two pitches that combined to be about 5 inches off the ground. And he's about 0 for his last 11 now. Alright Neifi.
  14. He's the pitching equivelant of Corey Patterson *ducks* (only kidding...) no he isn't he's white. No way will Chicago turn on him like it has our players the past 4 years. Hundley might have gotten the worst treatment of anybody.
  15. It's blowing in from center at 10 mph, just like yesterday. And toward the RF line.
  16. No, I don't think he would have made it. It wasn't particularly close. You're right. It's still a really stupid move, though. Yes it is. I wasn't defending the move, just saying he was out either way.
  17. Barrett has gone out twice to talk to Wood in three pitches. Two of those pitches were crushed and the third was nowhere near homeplate.
  18. No, I don't think he would have made it. It wasn't particularly close. Great first pitch outs morons.
  19. I thought it was to RF Sportsline says left. First out was to left, second out was to right. He threw a nice curve to Bay, who had to stop mid swing, then use all arms to ground one to Ramirez who screwed it up.
  20. Come on Ramirez. He's starting to look really sloppy in the field.
  21. Hendry on ESPN talking to Gary Miller: Nomar isn't far away. Scott Williamson out of the bullpen isn't far away.
  22. It's really hard to give Dusty the benefit of the doubt and assume this is only a blip. I don't think I have to apologize for thinking Dusty will bench Murton and play Hollandsworth far too often.
  23. You just want to keep going around in circles? You really think Cuban is the answer to Cubs fans prayers? This fascination with activist ownership is a complete joke. The Yankees of the 90's are the exception to the rule. George ran that team into the ground for 2 decades before his never ending spending finally started to pay off. Activist owners ruin franchises. Feel free to back that up (at least in terms of Cuban). Back it up? If you know anything about sports you don't need me to back up that statement. The list is endless.
