oh yea I forgot about him, the cubs must know when they need to make a change or something becuase they have some potential good pitchers in marmol and wells.
any one know the story on him? I heard that in spring training that he was converted to a pitcher? can any one confirm that? I saw his numbers last year when he was in boise, not to impressive. I bring this up with marmol being promoted to the bigs after being converted. He made the change quite well, do you think Bernard can do the same?
yea I was a little disappointed at first that he did not start at Peoria, but now that I look back on it I think it was the right decision. I say give him about maby 50 innings in Boise, then Peoria next year.
"Slated for Boise ... Mark Pawelek, the Cubs’ first-round pick in last year’s draft, is currently in Extended Spring Training in Arizona and slated to make his 2006 debut at Low A Boise when short-season play begins next month, per Cubs officials. Pawelek was named the Arizona League’s top prospect by Baseball America in 2005. He had a 2.72 ERA in 14 appearances for the Mesa Cubs, and struck out 56 in 43 innings. He posted a .170 average against." just thought I would share this!
I dont even see him on any of the minor league rosters, i am assuming he will be in boise but am not sure. I thought it was almost a sure thing he would be in Peoria??? Did he get hurt or what?
Rich Hill pitched 4 innings (6,7,8,9th) gave up 1 fun, struk out 4 I believe and walked 2 I think. I know for sure it was hill though and he pitched the 6,7,8, and 9th.
hey nathan thanks for your time. my question is, of the players you have seen so far this spring that will likely start the year with Peoria, which do you see as potential Major Leaguers down the road. thanks!
any one heard if we are gonna be careful with him, and not put him in the longer season minor league teams? I would personally perfer to see him to to the longer season ball, instead of the shorter one. just wounderting thanks
