  1. Talented starter gets injured returns to majors as reliever and wins world series: The Jason Isringhausen story. They didn't give Rafael Soriano a bajillion dollars for nothing.
  2. That's pretty much exactly what he was getting at. Yankees were 29-4 without ARod but 2-10 without Brett Gardner. Doesn't take a genius to see who is more important to the teams success.
  3. I vote we consider Rob's post the epitaph on further discussion of the merits (or lack thereof) of that horrific book. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN READ IT
  4. They're in the Final Four, so obviously it was right for VCU to get in and Smart is one of the best 4 coaches in the country.
  5. Would you nerds quit talking about numbers and more about how much Stan Musial hates black people?
  6. I think it's just that time of year, and I love this crap.
  7. Group A: Albert Pujols Group B: Josh Hamilton, Adrian Gonzalez Group C: Matt Holliday, Mike Stanton, Ryan Braun Group D: Kevin Youkilis, Justin Morneau, Juan Rivera, Ike Davis, Jason Heyward Wildcard PM'd

  9. I bet your bracket is spot on.
  10. Absolute gold. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/27/sports/baseball/27score.html?_r=2
  11. This is absolutely unbelievable. http://www.murraychass.com/?p=3118 And his other article on "Short Hops" is awesome as well.
  12. I get it. Saying he's hitting 400 foot bombs just sounds funny.
  13. Awesome. Majestic flyouts to the CF track. Not in Wrigley it's not. Oh yeah. So caught at the wall or dropping into the basket.
  14. Awesome. Majestic flyouts to the CF track.
  15. Walters owns Soriano, so he has that going for him.
  16. No team loses a top 5 MLB pitcher without being screwed. You don't not sign Albert Pujols because another player on the team might get hurt.
  17. What have you been reading? Of course they can afford him.
  18. I just wonder what the actual contract offer was. I don't buy for a second that the offer would have only made him the 10th highest player or whatever. And I'm sure the Cards did lowball him hoping for a hometown discount.
  19. I think what it boils down to is that Pujols wasn't going to sign unless the Cards offered him something ridiculous. Knowing that, there wasn't much of a reason for the Cards to offer him something absurd. They can do that next winter when they actually know what the market is going to be for him.
  20. Could be, but he doesn't really HAVE to play in STL this year. If he doesn't want to be in STL there was no reason for him to come out and say he would refuse to be traded. The only thing that looks like spin to me is coming from people like you who are hoping that he feels disrespected and leaves.
  21. They had a funny way of showing it No reason to offer him a record breaking deal until they have to. There is reason to offer him a deal that isn't insulting 200+ million dollars doesn't sound too insulting to me. And he doesn't sound too insulted by it either.
  22. They had a funny way of showing it No reason to offer him a record breaking deal until they have to.
  23. He'll be back to the Cardinals by August. He's like [expletive] herpes.
  24. He's right. Not for the reasons he mentioned, but he's right.
