  1. I don't think you get what I'm saying. They were fairly close as hitters, but Ozzie dwarfs Vizquel defensively. Vizquel was a very good defender for a long time. Ozzie was super ridiculous insane great defender for a long time.
  2. Can davearm get thrown in there also? backtobanks is working hard to get a 3rd and 4th poster involved

  4. If you have to search that hard for reputable sites, it has been banhammered. Pokerstars and Fulltilt are no longer accepting US players. Full Tilt hasn't even paid out. I have no clue what room you're talking about here, but I can guarantee you it's not big and it's not reputable in any way. Maybe Cereus? It operated for a couple weeks after Tilt/Stars were seized, but it's shut down like the others AFAIK. Absolute/Ultimate Bet has been shady for years. With the Russ Hamilton and superuser issues. Cake and the Merge networks were complete [expletive] with very few players. The only 2 reputable sites with good traffic were Tilt and Stars. Online US poker is DEAD. They have national sites like pokerstars.it and .fr where France and Italy then collect taxes. IIRC, Belgium as well with Germany on the way. I suspect you're talking about of your ass here.
  5. Wait, so we shouldn't ever legislate morality? OOOHHH I like where this is going. Who knows what is moral and what is not? How do you decide a punishment? I banged a married girl a year or two ago. Immoral? Prosecutable?
  6. you just became murder suspect #1
  7. They got shut down because it's been illegal for awhile, the sites found a fuzzy loophole that the government decided to call money laundering. He should get 0 games at most. For all intents and purposes, it's a home game. If the issue is "illegal gambling", dollar amounts don't matter and at least 50% of MLB should be suspended. They have "friendly games" in the clubhouses for christ sake.
  8. This goes double for online poker. The US is the only country that places restrictions on it, and the restrictions basically kill it in this country. Swing and a miss. The US restrictions have completely killed it (banhammered) and it is pretty regulated through most of Europe. But yeah, it's really stupid. Legalize, set standard practices, regulate it and tax it.
  9. That was crazy homerism. I'm guessing 7 games reduced to 4-5. Yadi was completely out of line.
  10. Speaking of the 06 draft, how good do the Texans look? Taking Mario Williams over Bush and Young. I remember thinking they were the biggest dumbasses ever for that.
  11. I can keep up with the team and point out their follies without watching them. Wow. You must be tons of fun. Yeah. We should just sit back and say Go Team without using any critical thinking.
  12. but but but but Rasmus was disappointing and his dad is a meanie and TLR will be in the HOF and that Jon Jay just Looks Like A Ballplayer™
  13. If Furcal can OPS .725 with completely average D he's a 1.5 win upgrade over Theriot. He gets hot and it's over 2. It's a pretty sweet deal considering he's being had for a non prospect OF and a couple million. The team is likely better for the year and no worse off for next year with this move.
  14. Yikes. Didn't realize he was that bad last year.
  15. Because they'll get a comp round pick for Pena. If the Pirates are offering a player with less value than a comp pick there is no reason to move him.
  16. There is no way this can happen. You guys have too much talent, what the he'll is going on in St. Louis right now? http://presscoverage.us/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/mlb_larussa_195.jpg Seriously. He's batting Patterson leadoff tonight for fucks sake.
  17. I think they could if they decide to spend some money. They only have 36 million guaranteed tied up for 2012 and they had a payroll of 98 million in 2008.
  18. Joe Sheehan said Anthopoulos basically traded air for Rasmus. That's not far off. Anthopoulos tenure as the Blue Jays GM -Roy Halladay would only accept a trade to the Phillies, yet he managed to get 3 of their top 5 prospects in Drabek, d'Arnaud and Taylor. -Traded Brandon League for Brandon Morrow. -Traded Alex Gonzalez for Yunel Escobar. Extended Yunel for 4 years/$20M. -Traded Vernon Wells (and his entire contract) for Mike Napoli and Juan Rivera -Extended Bautista for $13M a year. -Traded Octavio Dotel and a LH reliever for Colby Rasmus. He's pretty much GM Jesus.
  19. Geez, how much cap room do they have, or are the Skins eating a lot of Haynesworth's deal? The Patriots owe Haynesworth $5.4 million for this year and $6.7 million next year, none of it guaranteed.
  20. Cards just picked up Patterson so lets just put this to the test.
  21. Chris Duncan is an analyst on 101 ESPN and was a big part of the Media Hype Machine that drove fans against Rasmus. He's also bitter that Rasmus pushed him and Ankiel out of the way in 2009 by not being a terrible [expletive] baseball player. Duncan's remarks today are pretty much, "he is what he is, not going to be a superstar" and "at least we're getting guys who will come to the park ready to play."
