  1. White Sox fans never cease to disappoint me. I bet Mayor Daley is proud though.
  2. BH = bored at work. WOO!
  3. Kelly with a single to score Garko 11-6 Barrett is throwing beach balls.
  4. Espinosa singles to score another to put runners at the corners. 10-6
  5. Mesa has 6 hitters over .300, and three over .340 including Murton at .417.
  6. Murton flew out to center.
  7. After a walk Howard reaches on a botched play at the plate to make it 7-6 Mesa. Now a hit by Garko brings up Murton with em loaded.

  9. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/columnists/askba.html Cubs fans perennially get teased by the potential of righthander Angel Guzman. He had another lost year again in 2005 but was assigned to the Arizona Fall League. How important is this opportunity for him? This seems like his make-or-break chance to show he still deserves his once-lofty prospect status. Callis: Two years ago, Guzman was the Cubs' top prospect. He probably would have come up at midseason had he not come down with shoulder problems. He had arthroscopic surgery to repair a small tear in his labrum, a relatively minor procedure. But since then, he pitched just 48 innings in the minors in 2004 and just 18 this year. Forearm stiffness prevented him from working more in 2005. I don't think it's a make-or-break situation for him, though his health questions obviously have diminished his prospect luster. It's mainly an opportunity to get some much-needed innings. Assistant editor Chris Kline was on hand to see Guzman pitch Wednesday, and reported that he showed a 91-93 mph fastball that peaked at 95. But he rarely used his curveball and his changeup wasn't as good as it was before he got hurt. It's not surprising that his secondary pitches got rusty during his inactivity. When he was healthy, all three of his offerings graded out as 70s on the 20-80 scouting scale at times.
  10. What about them?
  11. Good for Leo. I'm shocked by this but it sounds like it's something that he really wanted to do. Maybe the O's can build a great rotation and finally kick the crap outta the yanks.
  12. BeerHere = a sucker for Cubs stuff. I just spent $60 on two t-shirts and a cap using Tim's link. $100 is likely the limit before pre-approval is needed from BeerWife, so I got $40 left. Any suggestions?
  13. Some of my good friends are Sox fans, and to them, I say congrats. The City of Chicago deserves a World Series championship. I just wish it was being played on the north side of town. Why do I hate the Sox? A simple example of many in my lifetime...... Every day I walk to the Metra station on my way home. Since the playoffs began there has been a t-shirt vendor selling t-shirts in front of the Metra station on Madison. Do you think his t-shirts say "Way to go Sox!", or "Sox 2005 AL Central Champion!".....alsolutely not. His t-shirts say BS like "Wrigley Field, Home of the worlds largest gay bar" and "Cubs Sox" and a nice little picture of th cubs bear full of bullet holes. That is why I hate the Sox. To my Sox fan friends that have essentially waited as long as we have for a pennant, I say congrats, and have a drink or two on me. To the rest of the ignorant trolls and wife-beaters, I say go screw yourselves.
  14. As opposed to all the success and great fortune the Cubs had pre-2003? We've talked about this before. The misery has been more intense and more public over the last three years. I could not possibly agree more. If being a fan means having to deal with this level of utter misery, baseball be damned, I have a life to live.
  15. This has been the worst post season I can remember, I'm 33. Whoever posted that God hates the Cubs is absolutely correct. Whoever posted that the World Series is in my hometown, yet it feels a million miles away, I completely agree. Whoever posted that the 2003 was the one shot for us Cubs fans, was right. The Cubs three biggest rivals are in the playoffs. Two of which are guaranteed to be in the World Series. The Cubs have regressed in each of the last three years in all facets of the organization. The light at the end of the tunnel has gone dark. This is the worst I've felt as a Cubs fan in my entire life. The game I've loved and played from the time I was 5 years old through 22 and every instant in between, appraently hates me. The world is a cruel and cold place today.
  16. It was certainly an extremely frustrating year. With the sox winning their division and both the cards and stros clinching against the cubs, it's no wonder why everyone is so down. But come on. This was a very classy move by the Cubs. I honestly doubt that the sox would have the same degree of class, did they do anything in 2003?
  17. I second this idea.
  18. Crap Twice in one day
  19. Another double by Sing. He thought he got it to dead center. Come on Buck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Nice catch by Laroche coach.
  21. Alright...... this is it. Need some runs here. Heart of the order against their closer. Come on Jaxx!!!!!!!!!! On a side note.......I ate my Cubs tickets today because I didn't want to see the Cards clinch in Wrigley. Is there anything worse than your #1 rival clinching another division crown on your home turf? This season absolutely sucked. Worse than 2003 and I would argue that it was even worse than the dreadful 2001 campaign. That being said, by December 1, I'll be looking forward to spring training 2006.
  22. There's that bald dude again.....is that you DJaxx?
