  1. Difficult to gauge the Sosa trade without taking the $$ into account though. What could Hendry have done with the $$? Could he have picked up some better pieces for the pen? Maybe a #5 or #6 (spot) starter? Fontenot and Hairston were decent pickups but th simpel fact is this, we're paying Sosa to play (admittedly poorly) elsewhere. A portion of your ticket $'s go to pay his salary. I'm glad he's gone, but it wasn't a great deal from the Cubbie standpoint. Addition by subtraction is 100% correct. But I gotta believe we could've done better.
  2. TicketsNow.com is also good. If you're in a pinch, lemme know. I have season tickets and I wasn't planning on going to the game. OK, but not great seats and I'm sure you can get better seats on ebay, stubhub of ticketsnow. Shoot me an email if you can't get anything.
  3. Anyone else think that Treenerd must be a wicken? Shutup BeerHere! ok
  4. Settle down Glendon. Just get some outs here.
  5. De Los Santos is due for a wild pitch right about now. :-
  6. I gotta think that 98 pitches is his limit. Murton should pinch hit and Demyp comes in. Next time say that before Murton pinch-hits. Also, why use Dempster when it's a blowout? Gameday is a little slow, but then again so am I. When was the last time Dempster pitched? Friday?
  7. I like this Murton kid, and he's one good lookin fellow to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I gotta think that 98 pitches is his limit. Murton should pinch hit and Demyp comes in.
  9. With Holly making tha last out of the 8th, Baker wants 1 more inning from Maddux. If TOdd got on, we'd see a pinch hitter, provided someone was up in the pen.
  10. Is anyone up in the pen? Looks like MadDog is going out for the 8th.
  11. Decision time. Maddux at 82 pitches on a hot day. You gotta think his day is done, and if so, nice job old man. =D>=D>=D>=D>=D>=D>
  12. There are alot of players on this club who have to be looking at CPatt and thinking, "my job isn't safe" Good move by Hendry. Agreed. Especially gutsy considering CPatt was a Hendry guy. It's a shame though for Corey because he ended up being the fall guy when he never should have been leading off to begin with. Speed != good lead off hitter. Corey was a run producer throughout his career and the big league club tried to make him into something that he isn't.
  13. This seems like a completely different team than the team that got swept in Atlanta. Taking walks, timely hitting, good pitching. Complete 180.
  14. The intentional - unintentional walk to Lee.
  15. 3 on Friday, 5 on Saturday, and 7 so far today, as you noted. O B P Me likey.
  16. Holly has been a rally killer today. The fish have a terrible pen. If they turn seller by the end of the month, I'd sell the farm for Cabrera. With the exception of Pie, Hill and Harvey, I'd send anyone else to get Cabrera.
