  1. 4-on-3 PP is a huge advantage, and they'll probably pull Khabi right away.
  2. As the Blues PBP guy likes to say: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
  3. This is an area where I thought the Hawks were just masterful last year. With a lead in the 3rd, they applied enough pressure to keep the other side uneasy but really played shutdown defense. Going to need that even more with the goalie situation.
  4. PENALTY SHOT! Dammit.
  5. Steeger! Nice, Stortini going after Seabrook. That'll happen with Eager out though.
  6. It's Gene Honda, as usual.
  7. Seems like after that Detroit game they got their legs back and it's been off to the races since then. I don't know what the shots/game record is (at least in the post-2005 era), but the Hawks are going to put up an amazing average this year.
  8. Very happy to see Skille get rewarded with one.
  9. Sounds like a hell of a pace to start this one. That's always going to favor the Hawks, as long as the defensemen stay honest and don't leave Niemi in any bad situations.
  10. I must be waaaaaayyyy behind with this online feed.
  11. I'm certainly no expert on the Hawks farm system either, but my impression is that Crawford was seen as a better prospect than Niemi. Crawford just didn't step up when given the chance last year and in training camp. Hopefully the crappy internet at this hotel will hold up so I can listen to the game tonight.
  12. Niemi starting tonight opposite Khabi. How's that for a kick in the balls? Not that I want Khabi back considered the money he got. But still.
  13. Here's that Orr/Koci marathon.
  14. kesler is really good all around. it was a good move for us to sign him to an offer sheet; unfortunately vancouver wasn't stupid and matched it. i'm wondering if henrik sedin will drop bricks on his own left foot until it breaks, since the sedins seem to be deathly afraid of distinguishing themselves from one another in any way. Salo is out a couple months now too. Tough start for Vancouver. Not that I'm sympathetic. Orr and Koci went in an epic bout early on tonight in Toronto. Will post video when it's posted on youtube, which it will be.
  15. No disrespect, but don't you think those opponents are looking at the Panthers as their opportunity to get well?
  16. I signed up, but I honestly don't think I'll use the message boards. I will check it out from time to time for the other content though.
  17. I can't say I'd be opposed to parting with a mid-level draft pick for TO at this point. I wanted TO as a desperate attempt to help Orton, but I'm not so sure I'd want to be dealing away more draft picks for one year of TO. I'd have next to zero interest in bringing him back beyond this year. If they gave up a 4th in 2011 or something, I wouldn't be upset. But they are already low on picks next year and still need offensive line help plus fresh blood on defense. Right, definitely just for this year. They don't need to stunt the growth of Knox and Bennett beyond that. But can't you see TO running up to the booth during the game and beating Turner? Actually, that might be worth the draft pick right there.
  18. I can't say I'd be opposed to parting with a mid-level draft pick for TO at this point.
  19. Winner. Jauron never should've gotten that chance after his brilliant work here.
  20. I thought about grabbing Wallace and starting him, but Burleson was available so that was an easy decision. Starting Burleson over Harvin, Hester and Berrian. No question. For you, go with Maclin. I'd say Manningham, but there are injury concerns. As to the running backs, no reason to stray from Forte and Benson.
  21. It was on Versus, which left out us Directv people. Next two games (Weds, Thurs) are on CSN.
  22. I mean, it's not my money. But if that's true, I'm 100% in favor of making a trade at the appropriate time and packing Huet's bags for him.
  23. It might come to that with Huet, just an outright release. I'm certainly not up on how the cap hits work, but I'm sure Bowman will see if there are any trade options out there first. If eating some of his salary would be more beneficial than the cap hit from releasing him, might as well see if there is interest in him. I can't imagine there would be, but who knows. He has shown in the past he can be a stud, albeit for very short periods. I ended up listening to the 3rd period online. Wiedeman is a great listen.
  24. Complete speculation by Schefter.
