As a Fred Jackson owner, I was really hoping Spiller was a FA. Times like this I wish we did weekly waivers. Some prick grabbed him. Second straight year starting RB goes down right away -- last year it was Charles and Hillis.

Why on earth would he concede that? I agree you could probably take a few weeks and get these guys (and gal, as it were) up to speed, but today I saw blown calls that I've never seen from an NFL crew before. It was absolutely terrible. Sure, nobody "got hurt" and I'm sure that's the weird standard people want to apply, but it shouldn't be. When incredibly blatant false starts aren't noticed, it's obvious the officiating isn't up to par and needs to be addressed (and that's just an example). And I for one don't want to wait until week 8 for it to get better. I didn't mean to suggest I agreed with him. I saw terrible work by the refs in several games today. But I do admit it's tough because even with the regular refs there would be plenty of gripes.

Pereira said they were dead wrong. I'm taking his word for it. About them not losing a timeout for the injury? Right. Peter King on NBC said the same thing, after conceding that up to that point the refs had done pretty well today. I would never use Peter King saying anything as a way to support anything unless it's that whatever he said is wrong. I know he's a jerkoff. But short of reading the damn rule book myself I expect those dudes are right. Had no idea Butthead's kid was in the league.

I have an irrational hate of Broncos fans. One of the only things that can make me root for the Steelers. And this NBC intro with what's-her-name is so freaking cheesy.
