Even if that was a hook, shouldn't it have been a penalty shot? He did have a clear path to the net. I don't know the exact rule but the refs must have some discretion there.

McLaren for the Leafs cold knocked out a guy from the Senators whose name I can't spell. Not on YouTube yet but look it up. Destroyed him.

So Bollig is going to Rockford. Which is fine. It's been pretty painful to watch him out there the last few games. Just seems lost and they haven't needed his fists. No corresponding move though, so there's speculation Montador is ready. He could play the wing, though I'm not sure putting a guy fresh off a concusion on the fourth line is such a good idea. Or Stan is making one of those deals he discussed.

I originally thought the ceremony was over the top, but they showed the graphic that it's been 13 years since a guy played his 1000th game in a Hawks uniform (the memorable Sylvain Cote). It is quite an accomplishment. And Hoss was a huge part of the Cup team, so it's cool with me.

That's interesting about potential trade targets. It's just so hard to imagine this team needing anything. A good face off guy would help. I still like Gaustad.

yeah, he's been solid. his problem is he plays on such a fast, skilled team that he goes unnoticed, except when you notice that he's slower than a lot of the team Pretty much. He showed some smooth hands yesterday it just surprised me. But I heard an opposing announcer refer to him as an offensive defenseman the other day and it surprised me. Figured it was because he's not all that great of a defensive defenseman.

Yeah that's awesome. One thing I forgot to mention yesterday. Rozsival played a great game. He had one mishap in the defensive zone that led to a turnover, but he's actually got pretty good hands and made some nice plays in the offensive zone.

Red Wings forums are full of fans crying about how that should be illegal. Meh. It had more forward motion than a spin-o-rama shootout goal -- or Bertuzzi's from last year. It was really close. I haven't gone back and watched again but I think the puck stopped for a moment.
