I think because the play was waved off before the goal it cant be overturned. In theory, Red Wings players could have stopped playing after seeing the ref wave his hands or something. The issue is that it shouldn't be waved off, but because it was it has to stand. I think? Yeah but like I said here it was instantaneous.

I can only presume the rules don't allow for that. Because otherwise yeah, his call had zero to do with the play. Nobody stopped playing and allowed the goal because this [expletive] decided to call a [expletive] penalty on Saad.

not only that, but the guy that gets mauled gets called for a penalty. someone is [expletive] bought and sold. How do the rules not say that play in progress continues there? It's completely away from the play, regardless of what is called?? Hockey doesn't have a rule where you can play the advantage, probably it does though Not when the calls are coincidental.
