  1. Keegan through 5 w/ 77 pitches. With 3-5 coming up, I assume he’s done?
  2. Genius Cubs…put the guy coming off shoulder injury in to pitch. I fully realize the chances of him get hit are not much, but still…
  3. Steele isn’t going to make it as a starter. Relegate him to the pen, he’s good for 2 innings.
  4. IMO Morel has been fun to watch so far. Not sure if he sticks but he’s making the best of it
  5. Happ with a beautiful moon shot. So awesome
  6. The Cubs last rebuild felt like it took forever but it only took 3 years after Theo took over to build a contender. If you consider this year 1 - equivalent to 2012, lets look at what the Cubs had in assets by this point in the rebuild: -On the major league team they had 1 cornerstone piece in Anthony Rizzo and a 2015 bullpen arm in Travis Wood. -In the minors, only 2 of their top 40 prospects actually contributed to the 2015-2016 Cubs - Javy and Matt Szczur -They had the pieces that would eventually be traded for Arrieta, Strop, Fowler, 1/2 of Addison Russell, Hendricks, Carl Edwards, Grimm and Neil Ramirez (probably missing some) -Farm system was ranked around 15-20 in baseball Curious to see how we compare with what we have right now. Obviously a bit hard to say because we don't know how guys like Davis will ultimately look in the majors and we have no idea what we can get for a lot of the veterans on the staff but it seems like we're in a similar position, maybe slightly better now. Definitely seems like another 2-3 years to get to the point of contention on the surface. As much as I hate it, they need to trade Wilson rather than letting him hit FA. He's about the only "tradable" asset that will bring in good value that is not more than three years away from MLB. Maybe Happ, but he's a really nice complimentary player and not someone who will command a good prospect or two. Short of that would they consider trading Hendricks and what would he bring back? Kyle is totally affordable and under control next year and vesting option for 24. Maybe to a contending team like the Twins or Dodgers
  7. Surprised Ricketts didn’t have him sit in the jump seat
  8. That’s surprising to hear to begin with but the fact that ~ half his games are in Coors is even more surprising. It could be the ball as well, but that affects everyone.
  9. Is this a 100 loss team? It’s really hard to see 60 wins.
  10. The thinking behind the trade was fine. The Cubs were supposed to be getting elite numbers from Quintana but he definitely disappointed. It was supposed to work out for both teams but did not. However, Garland for Karchner was the dumbest trade I've seen. Trading a top prospect for a closer with an ERA above 5 doesn't work Sox fans never seem to remember the Bell for Sosa trade. It’s like it never existed yet probably the most impactful
  11. Helluva a 14 pitch AB for Rivas resulting in a W
  12. Unfortunately, Hermasillo is not long for this world. I had hopes but he looks more lost than anyone else on the roster
  13. Madrigal looks totally overmatched at the plate
  14. Cubs look horrible. Bad news Bears
  15. Sayow had a great 10 pitch AB earlier which resulted in an RBI double. He wore out Morton
  16. PCA is forcing the organizations decision with his good play. That’s great to see
  17. The idea of extending Willy isn’t a good one at this point. Which also means the return for him in a trade will be unimpressive
