  1. If you can't say anything good about your manager's handling of your pitching staff... Seriously though, what do want him to say? My manager was right to overuse chapman, he was the only decent reliever we have...uh had. All the rest of these guys are garbage! Or I love all my guys. My manager is an idiot. Not much he can say. I wouldn't expect him to be critical at all. What I meant is - he will normally give some additional insight as to how he works with the pitchers and gets their feedback on how their feeling etc. He normally gives more of the behind the scenes action - something different than what Maddon or the players would say. He's an interesting interview to hear.
  2. I haven't read or heard an interview with Bosio yet re the post season. I always enjoy hearing his opinion cuz he doesn't sugar coat anything.
  3. I know it's been asked before, but when is the MLB gonna announce their punishment? I assume it'll include taking away draft picks. Would MLB levy a multi year or multi round draft pick fine?
  4. He didn't come here for a haircut, he came for the jewelry. And he got it. But he's still a mouth breather.
  5. I love it. Sweet vengeance!
  6. Yeah, that they might be players in FA is the first thing that came to mind for me. Either Bautista and Encarnacion, both players getting totally definitely not colluded against in FA, could work for them and offer rare RH power. They've got plenty of money to spend, they just haven't had to spend it in the past. With 10+ years of 3M or more attendance, they could easily spend they're way into the top 6-7 teams in terms of payroll.
  7. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Or something like that.
  8. Weren't they supposed to have some good, live arms in the minors a few years ago? Now that Martinez is on the club - what else do they have in terms of arms at the minor league level?
  9. Assuming he continues to progress, whats a reasonable time frame on Cease as to when he gets the call? 2018? 19?
  10. http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2015/7/1/8859137/thoracic-outlet-syndrome-pitcher-effectiveness I guess I didn't realize all these guys had this issue/condition. Recovery still seems a little iffy.
  11. DAMN... I thought that was Heyward. Fowler has the best celebrations/reactions. That, Schwarber Dong vs Cole last season, his game 7 HR trot, etc.. He clearly knew it was gone off the bat. Of course we all did. That's a great photo. That is a great photo. The ump, catcher, Ricketts in the background all tracking the flight of the ball.
  12. Question on the Tyson Ross surgery - how successful is the recovery? I don't even know how to spell his condition but with other injuries like TJS, the results can be fairly predictable with the number of surgeries. But with Ross - what is the likelihood he returns to his old self?
  13. Yes and yes Nice. Thanks.
  14. So, does StL lose their first round pick with this signing? And the Cubs gain one?
  15. Speculating, what would be ridiculous - 5/$75M?
  16. I just now saw that. Nice gesture and tribute.
  17. Well, well. I'd been wondering about this. Wasn't terribly impressed with Hammel this year beyond the potato chip thing. Mildly surprised they moved this quickly. Theo must be as antsy as the rest of us to get next year going. Theo's still on his bender. This must've been a Jed decision :).
  18. Thank you Cubs! I'm still on cloud nine and almost obnoxious about it, but I really don't give a horsefeathers. There have been so many years where we've had to listen to the national media continuously repeat the history of the Cubs and not to mention - comments from other fans about Cubs chking etc... Its just a great feeling to finally have the upper hand in any baseball conversation I have with non-Cub fans. We've all spent alot of years dedicated to the Cubs and its such a great feeling to finally finish on top! GO CUBS!
  19. I have a favor to ask...I was on the Cubs Wikipedia page and under "other nicknames " - the name "The lovable losers" is there. Can someone go in and edit/delete that? I've never done it on Wikipedia and thought someone here might know how to do it. Thanks.
