PECOTA: 5.44 ERA Bill James: 5.14 CHONE: 5.13 ZIPS: 4.95 I'd say 4.40 is pretty optimistic. I'd love for it to happen, but it's more likely we see a 5-something. Previous to last year he put up ERA's of 4.13 and 3.71 and some other crappy ones. There is reason to believe he could fall inline close to the above numbers this year. no... baseball projections are always dead-on amen to that sarcasm. gut feelings from fans of the team the guy signs with following a good spring training outing are typically much more accurate. Gut feelings. Or just going to carreer #'s and the last few years?

Saying "hope I'm wrong" seems like he's giving him a chance to me. you're right. However "So other than sucking in 2002 and 2003". . and "suck at pitching" is not so positive. who said i was being positive about him? i said i hope he does well. listen, he's really pretty much sucked for the better part of the last five years (including sucking especially hard in the most recent season). if you want to pretend that didn't happen, go ahead. if he was on the cardinals right now, i truly doubt you'd have anything positive to say about him. so i'm not going to sit here and pretend i'm excited about him. and me doing that is not going to have any effect on anybody doing anything anywhere. I'm over it. Just forget about it. Be as negative as you want. would you have a positive outlook for marquis if he had signed with the mariners or the cardinals or anyone else in baseball besides the cubs? Honestly, I wouldn't be following him. Let me seriously think about that. If someone ASKED me to think about what he might do. I'd prob say he might lower his ERA by about 1.00 just based on his last few years and carreer #'s.

Well, it is true that Marquis wasn't good in 2002 and 2003. Why does everyone have to be positive just because you are? because I'll have to leave for 2 months if you don't. :wink:

You're right. I should have said could you stop talking about him negatively so much.

Mine would be not constantly talking about how much he sucked in the past.
