Addison Russell only has a .273 .308 .273 .580 line against the Cardinals this year, so I guess it's a good thing the Cubs won't be playing him against the much better Molina-led Cardinals. They're going to need their best when facing a *checks notes* 37-year old catcher with a -0.2 fWAR this season. They might be better off bringing in Alfred Molina instead.

Addison Russell has a .277 .362 .482 .844 line in games that the Cubs have lost this season. He has a horrific .206 .288 .302 .589 line in games that the Cubs have won. Clearly his teammates hate him as much as the Cardinals love Molina since they intentionally tank whenever he does well.

It feels like we've had this happen multiple times: rando dude shows up who seemingly hates everything about the Cubs except the things that most everyone else here dislikes, which the rando defends well past the point of sanity, and then they also end up acting as hardcore Brewers and/or Cardinals defenders in how they talk about them like they're these terrifying, nigh-unbeatable forces.

Unless that reason he was secretly almost 40 the entire time and it doesn't matter that he's 37 and broken now, then who gives a horsefeathers. How do you know he's still hurt? Are all our hurt guys going to be broken when they come back of the IL too, or is this just a SSS Cardinals thing? Haahahaha! Too good.

He should have never been send down, and he's still hitting going back to Iowa. He's younger than league average hitter by 16 months, His .891 OPS in Iowa is better than league average by .056 points and .108 better than the Iowa average since they don't play as many games in the extreme hitters parks of the league. The whole "he's only a boy playing a man's game" shtick doesn't really fly anymore when he's got just shy of 600 games at the major league level.

Yeah, the only way he comes up now is if Baez, god forbid, gets hurt. As long as Happ is *checks notes* slashing .300 .391 .650 1.041 playing actual baseball, Russell can go horsefeathers himself.
