  1. Who needs Edith for random sample sizes when you have the OG? .154/.190/.231/.421 over his last 11 games. Season OPS dropped from .887 to .849 coming into today. Last 7 days: .200 .238 .250 .488 Last 14 days: .171 .211 .257 .468 Last 28 days: .259 .297 .471 .767 Second half: .266 .289 .483 .771
  2. Look, even the best of us aren't right 100% of the time. But damned if his takes on Heyward and the OF weren't spooktacular.
  3. Man, that StylesClash guy was the big winner in that thread. WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED.
  4. This thread is a journey involving Holland himself: [tweet]https://twitter.com/SportandMusic10/status/1164724492029038592[/tweet]
  5. Man, based on some of those pics, and his doppelganger that works in my office, Lester is gonna get so horsefeathering fat as soon as he retires.
  6. Yep. If the revisionist history becomes "oh, well the Dodgers broke him" it's going to be annoying. This guy had giant, blood-red flags all over his career and Theo should've let someone else give him $20M to rehab for 2 years. It went full worst case in terms of health (possibly thanks to maddon ignoring usage orders) and he was still worth like 5.5 mil last year. It wasn't some disastrous signing. And the injury risk was baked into the modest cost. If he had no injury history, he would've cost a lot horsefeathering more. If you wanna be mad at some horsefeathers in hindsight, the Heyward deal is right there. My disgust is large. My resentment contains multitudes.
  7. I feel 20m was worth the risk. That's 20m of the Ricketts money that didn't go to awful Trump things The only good argument for this terrible signing.
  8. He's so good at it he somehow gets his own team's batters to do it, too.
  9. I don't really think that's all time bad. I have no problem with a big league player being pissed that the few other decent big league players (and his teammates) are being shipped off for the sake of a future roster that he probably won't be on. He was pitching his ass off for a team that wasn't trying to win. I don't blame him one bit for saying that. In fact, I'm not sure I'd expect or want him to feel any other way. I think that's more justifiable for the trade that actually sent Shark away, since the MLB team didn't benefit from it right away. The Feldman trade netted them 2 players who immediately went on the MLB roster, and even as soon as that year made the team better. it was a really dumb thing to say. Dude, they traded for Jake when he was peak butt (as opposed to the Peak Butt from the body issue) with the O's. And hell, Strop was terrible for them that year to that point, too, so acting like he should have been happy that they went right onto the roster is pretty goofy since neither at that point would have dispelled the idea that the Cubs were just punting the season. And they both still looked pretty mediocre by the end of the season, too. Well, Jake definitely did.
  10. What the hell are you talking about? I'd say he was mixing him up with another Samardzija, but the name is horsefeathering Samardzija.
  11. Fun discovery: this euphemism for penis is inexplicably censored here:
  12. It's agonizing how close this feels like being a great joke about how much he looks like a walking dick.
  13. Often times if you just change the end to .gif it will work. At least that's I can do with stuff from Reddit or Deadspin that's coded as video.
  14. I will fully cop to being a total meatball about Darvish. If the Cubs make the playoffs and he's starting at Wrigley? I'm expecting a complete disaster.
  15. [narrator]He didn't.[/narrator]
  16. Yes, and then Darvish made an error, completely changing the complexion of an inning for the millionth time in the last week. It's almost like Not Good Teams struggle in the face of adversity.
