  1. Orrrrrr they just keep up the approach they've had and drive him out in 5th or 6th. He's already at 74 pitches.
  2. Somehow they've made sale throw 74 pitches already. Huh.
  3. Teagarden = http://www.cbc.ca/polopoly_fs/1.1897289.1408652205!/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/16x9_620/hi-tenderizing-steak-852.jpg
  4. Man, we didn't even get the usual "I'm insanely good with the bat for the first week of the month and then unspeakably terrible the rest" out of Montero in July. Boooooooooo.
  5. The likely difference between Castro and Baez defensively would probably be pretty negligible. It basically all comes down to how much better offensively Baez should be.
  6. Flip Castro and Russell and run with that until Baez shows up and/or trades happen.
  7. javy's defense is very good I know.
  8. People might be overstating the difference defensively just a wee bit.
  9. What's the projection right now as to when Baez can even begin playing rehab games?
  10. I think they are definitely built to win now, and it shows by how much they have won despite their stretches of struggling.
  11. Oh, obviously, and I'm very happy to see them doing so much better. It definitely was a case of a switch being flipped in terms of them not being terrible, but I guess I was thinking/hoping it wasn't going to be quite this much of a battle this often once they were a team able to stay this far above .500. It's not likely to stay this way, but right now it does make a lot of the games a lot more frustrating or even somewhat less enjoyable than what might expect from a team that was just 10 games over .500.
  12. Teams are often apprehensive to go out and replace players all the time. It doesn't just have to be wanting to see new guys play it out; guys get the benefit of the doubt in that regard because of money or veteran status and the like all the time. That's hardly a mindset exclusive to a team with several young players.
  13. My irrational take on the season is how this doesn't "feel" like a team that has been able to hover 6-10 games above .500. That really doesn't make any sense, but ultimately I really have no fondness for the type of winning in any sport where a team has to really grind it out most of the time. Obviously teams like that can still be very good, but I'm lazy; I want my teams to beat the holy piss out of other team more often than not not even have to think about it. This season has just felt like they've had to fight a lot more to win than they should. None of that really makes any sense upon re-reading, but that's the only thing that "really" bugs me. I don't just want good; I want easy good. Hopefully it's a growing pains kinda situation and we're just building up to seeing easy good.
  14. Welp, that was sure something. Time for dinner.
  15. Our record isn't worth the frustration of worrying if we're going to score one measly run each game. The offense is beyond pathetic and isn't worth anyone's time. What is this even
  16. Even if they lost all 3 to the Sox they'd be 6-6 in July going in to the break. Please stop with this nonsensical "crawling" crap.
  17. Yeah, those are weird comments from people who are around every day. No kidding. At this point I'd just DL him and play Herrera or something because my heart keeps breaking, but why the hell are people talking about Baez?
  18. The offense runs very hot and cold and after Denofria the next 3 hitters are not good. Castro squared it up last time against Rodon. Losing an at-bat with a RISP is painful today Even when Castro gets a hit he then breaks your heart for the next 20 AB's. I'm just saying I get why he called the hit and run.
  19. The offense runs very hot and cold and after Denofria the next 3 hitters are not good.
  20. I'm terrified of Denofria loading the bases just because of how terrible Castro is.
