They're very much in "what have you done for me lately?"-territory. This year just didn't ever click for Soler; he'll likely get another shot with them next year.

And what has Soler shown this year? Outside of the repeated meme of how hard the ball hits off of his bat he's little more than a singles hitter. His strikeouts went through the roof and he's the worst defender on the team by far. I want the guy to eventually kick ass, but he's shown next to nothing that should motivate for them to figure out how to work him into the lineup as much as possible once he comes back.

What did he show that would merit finding a way to fit a light-hitting, defensively terrible outfielder into such an awesome lineup? the fact that he's probably a better hitter than castro even now Come on, drop the bit. Soler's catastrophically bad defense negates what little he's likely to offer with the bat coming rusty off of the DL. There's zero reason for the Cubs to make way for him with the roll they're on.
