  1. But like you said, the power wasn't there until this year. It makes sense other teams aren't going to see him as a "can't miss DH" until they see a longer track record of him being more than a gigantic OBP-machine. There was always some sort of extenuating circumstance around the power outages. For example, last year it was an injury that made him miss part of the year and regularly saps power for a while when returning. I've always maintained that if there was one thing I wasn't concerned about with Vogelbach it was him eventually tapping into the raw power. Sure, but it still wasn't there, and now he's just putting those numbers up in the PCL. Any team that wants him right now is going to want him from a potential/"show me if you can keep doing this"-standpoint and not, "oh boy, here's our DH." It just seems like there's a small, very vocal contingent of Cubs fans that seem to severely overrate his value at this point in time.
  2. His stuff is fine, the command is poor. That doesn't necessarily mean injury. Yeah, it's more like he's got some kind of pitching yips instead of being hurt. Teams started laying off more and he hasn't been able to adjust yet.

  4. Great, we'll beat up on the Reds and other [expletive] teams and then get swept by the Mets or Giants. Man, it's really unfair how the Cubs aren't allowed to make any moves before the deadline. Weird.
  5. Wasn't he pretty underwhelming, to say the least, until this season?
  6. sulley not being Chunk's agent seems like a huge missed opportunity.
  7. I appreciate the game time being posted in true time. Much obliged.
  8. You poor thing. Which teams have good numbers against the game's best pitchers?

  10. More importantly, this creepy weirdo is gone: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/976011/d-rose-dance.gif The funny/sad thing is, I bet if we looked in the archives there would be a lot of posts from us talking about how awesome it was that Rose didn't engage in that dancing. I know I got a kick out of it at the time. Oh, definitely; we all thought it was awesome at the time. I know I sure did, and I posted mostly for the sad hindsight of how that changed from then to now. That said, one of the first things I got sick of with him was how crappy he was at playing the FA game, to the point where it seemed like at times he was actually trying to alienate people from signing with the Bulls. Obviously, blaming him for the Bulls not signing better FA is nonsense, but you did have a stretch where he was an incredibly exciting player and the league as a whole seemed pretty impressed with him, and the guy actually reaching out and pressing the flesh to try and bring players to Chicago could have made at least a bit of a difference. Ultimately it seems to boil down to him liking the guys he's playing with and not wanting to piss them off, but he had no idea how to say that (or to try and bring new players on board) without sounding like a anti-social douche telling everyone not already on the Bulls to screw off.
  11. I mean, there's no way Rose didn't just call him up and breathe heavily into the phone. No way.
  12. More importantly, this creepy weirdo is gone: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/976011/d-rose-dance.gif Apparently he called Durant to recruit him to NY, and he already recruited Noah. Lol I would pay all of the money to be able to listen to a phone call that tortuous and awkward.
  13. Gotta say, knowing how unlikely this is to work and all the times we've seen it fail, it's still a wayyy more likely path to a superstar than "blow it up and draft one." http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/what-exactly-are-the-bulls-doing-waiting-for-2017-or-bust/ Do the Bulls have any players that are friends with those guys? More importantly, this creepy weirdo is gone: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/976011/d-rose-dance.gif
  14. Yeah, he sounds like a dorky old man. I thought I was missing out on some insane tangent that he went off on.
  15. I doubt it. Our team is run by Theo Epstein. Wish he had remembered to re-sign Rodney.
  16. Uh, what total bizarre weirdness?
  17. Coghlan has struck out in 1/3 of his PA and has a 69% contact rate with the Cubs Nice. He's not a solid C+ player like the stars of this team.
  18. Coghlan has struck out in 1/3 of his PA and has a 69% contact rate with the Cubs Yeah, I did a mini-double take at the "he's looked really good" part. He's looked like an oaf.
  19. Though Baez will inevitably miss a bunch of time from all of things he keeps faceplanting in and on to.
