  1. Bonus points for Lester's bizarre death-stare from the dugout.
  2. Look, that the Cubs' winning it all was part of the Cavs, Patriots and Trump winning it all shows that they truly are the villains that their sport must hate. Might as well embrace it and REALLY bring it on with a minimum five-peat.
  3. The only Bulls news worth a damn: http://www.avclub.com/article/chance-rapper-talked-bulls-donating-another-1-mill-253057
  4. No, but if you work at night and forget to start the new one before you go to bed, you shouldn't wake up and already have lost your place. There needs to be some reasonable time allowance Again, these game times aren't surprises; if you know you're working late that night, then pass the torch.
  5. That noon rule is dumb. If you can't have the game thread up with plenty of time before the game itself, then pass it to the next person. It's not like it's a surprise when a game is going to be played.

  7. He's graduated from always predicting a rain-out to predicting the game threads being cancelled.
  8. I don't think any regular PMs were being sent out last year and it went fine.
  9. That Ross guy seemed pretty cool. What kind of monster could hate him?
  10. Exactly. He also makes bad hair choices, and his eyes cross over from dreamy to creepy. He's a little girl's idea of what a prince should look like, plus terrible acne. I was also surprised by Almora's emergence as the handsomeness alpha dog because his team photos are so dorky. A baseball hat does him no favors. His cleaned up look from Bryant's wedding, however, show him to be way ahead of the pack.
  11. I'm definitely seeing them here in DC, and since most of my old Cubs clothes are fat guy-wear, so I'm going to possibly wear all of them at the same time.
  12. With him clearly being the most handsome Cub by far, I am pulling for Almora. And I mean pullllllllllllllllin'.
  13. Uh, it was there when I saw bukie's post at 7 AM.
  14. Man, there are some trifling, whining Dodgers fans all over those comments. Gotta say it's the first time I've seen the moral high ground through outspending everyone else argument. Yeah, I kinda could see fans of mediocre or crappy teams with smaller payrolls grumbling, but for fans of the team with payroll resources that blows everyone out of the water to be crying about how another team is built? Get the horsefeathers outta here with that.

  16. Huh. That was a cool read; I definitely assumed most of it would be due to commercials. Didn't expect the main culprit at all.
  17. But significantly less disappointed that you were with his 2016. Honestly, not by much; I was so excited when they signed him because of his age and the potential of him being even better than he had been so far, and him only bouncing back to that point wouldn't point to a very rosy future. Certainly not a disaster, but just a pretty big let down in terms of a player I'm a big fan of and was hoping for great things from. Ah well.
  18. I didn't say it was bad; just that I'd be disappointed with it given the contexts.
  19. Nobody, apparently. My mistake. Ah, it was TT's post about his '08 season that I got hung up on; I glossed over that you rightly pointed out his '09 and '10 seasons were better earlier. My bad.
  20. What? Nothing. The whole point is that even if he's only 08 Fukudome at the plate, he is a 3-4 win player. That's how high the floor is with his defense and baserunning. What what? People were throwing out Fukudome's 2008 like it was his good year or something. I just wanted that clarified; seems like a random comp. Right, and 3-4 win Jason Heyward is a disappointment because, as you yourself pointed out, that likely means he's not opting out. I don't see what's so crazy about saying I'd be let down by a Heyward who is simply less bad at the plate.
  21. Yeah, I know; again, given his history prior to 2016, that would still seem like a pretty big disappointment.
