  1. I don't think you could have contrasted more with the well thought out analysis of the post above yours if you had tried.
  2. Zambrano is a spaz.
  3. It should be noted Murton lined out after a good AB in which he worked the count. He still is up there with DLee and Aram in having good ABs, and he tagged the ball right at Freel. It happens sometimes, but still a good, solid AB. Hopefully he'll average more than 0.9 PA/game next week. Somehow, I doubt it. I'd only doubt it if Aramis isn't back.
  4. I don't think it's going to be this barren for the rest of the year, but I feel that this team still needs a significant offensive push. My "trade Z NOW" sense is in overdrive, and I think they use him to ultimately get a #3 hitter and Lee gets moved to being #2.
  5. Hah! I didn't even think about what his initials were...
  6. Am I the only one who hates this whole OVA shtick? No, it got old after it was said the first time. Fine, fine, I'll retire it...the bit is OVAAAAAAAAAA!!!
  7. I wish it was Jackie Robinson Day every day if only that's it got more players wearing their socks right.
  8. I'd like to see Murton and Floyd in there, but while Aramis is out I can understand making sure Floyd is playing based on power alone.
  9. I understand Lou wanting Floyd in there with Aramis being out the last 2 games...so why not shift Soriano temporarily back to 2nd, Jacque over to CF and then plug Murton or Floyd into RF and the other in LF? The OF defense might be scary, but the offensive upside is infinitely better than having to have Izturius and Cedeno both batting.
  10. Anyone know if Aramis might be back today, even if just off the bench?
  11. I think his arm would have to fly off for him to be bumped in that incredibly unlikely dual return.
  12. A-rod? blue chip bundle? I'll take either, happily and with gusto, though I'd spin off those prospects for Cabrera.
  13. As funny as the guy is, I want him to do well just because him being on the team is incredibly entertaining. I'd love for him to have a few great years with the Cubs and then maybe get into the broadcasting side of things for the club when his career is done.
  14. I like having Floyd on this team, but he's not going to forget how to hit if he sits for too long. Murton definitely seems very "rusty" in what time he's getting, and I'd like to see him get to work through that, otherwise he's not gonna be any good to the team as a fulltime or part-time player.
  15. God, I hope he can continue this and take over the role of being the team's ace. I want to see Zambrano traded for something awesome.
  16. Agreed. I would much rather give Cherry a chance than keep my fingers crossed every time Ohman or Eyre pitch. Ohman definitely seems to be the odd man out. Cotts has, so far, looked pretty good. Lets hope he stays that way. I'd like to see Eyre traded off because of his cost more than anything else. Hell, sent Ohman, Eyre and Zambrano to the Yanks for ARod.
  17. Exactly. You don't let a pitcher that good walk, and leave you with a rotation full of question marks. I DO, however, think Rich Hill will be the man for years to come - but he needs somebody of equal caliber to compliment him on this rotation. That's the problem. Guzman can be inserted, but he's obviously not gonna replace Z. I was really hoping for Prior to be pitching in some capacity, but that's pretty much dashed. That said, I think Z can net the Cubs someone like ARod or Cabrerra, and I think that can't be ignored.
  18. Press conference over...Lou was quiter towards the end, nothing much said...I think he's going to go hurl a few players into lockers now.
