Have you been to LA since they got Manny? He is like a living legand in LA right now. I think he's bigger than Kobe in that town right now. That's exactly what I am bitching about. It's ridiculous. Manny is still more of a Red Sox icon than anything, hell, I identify him more with Cleveland than L.A. It would be like having called Brett Favre a Jets icon last season. Except Favre sucked and Manny arguably singlehandedly took them to the playoffs. Regardless, Manny has been a Dodger for about less than one season of a 16 year career. I heard some Dodgers fans say they thought today was the darkest day in their baseball following lives. Are [expletive] kidding me? I think Red Sox and Cleveland fans should be more upset, wondering if the years of Manny they got (all the best of his career, BTW) were legit. Leave it to Angelenos to lay claim to a player whose legacy has so little to do with them, their city or their team. Who cares if they love Manny? They haven't had a lot of big time players to glom onto on that team for a long time. It makes perfect sense why he'd be so popular there in such a short amount of time. I don't know why we're supposed to begrudge a fanbase for loving a superstar.
