He had a rough start, but his last 2 starts have been very good. And he "somehow kept his ERA down last year?" Yeah, that lucky bastard. It was all just smoke and mirrors to have the year he had. It's your typical story. Player busts his ass in a contract year does very well, signs big contract and the next year he goes back to the norm. Is it not what's happening here so far? I stand by what I said. So you think he wants to suck?

Seriously, if we want to remain in contention through this crud storm, there going to have to make a trade for someone, and a quality player at that. Even at this point in the season there will be available guys, but yeah, you're going to over pay for someone, but thats just the way it is, unless we want to wait til another next year. Cantu, Huff, and Atkins can all play 1st and 3rd. Huff and Atkins would be much cheaper, but at this point, I say go all out and see what the Marlins want for Huff. We could also look into Beltre. The fact is, Hoffpauir is doing well, but he cant hit lefties to save his life, and we cant afford to bring up another minor leaguer. The only ones who can hit anything are outfielders. If Lee is on the DL you play Hoff at 1st. That's all there is to it. You're not wasting even more trade pieces when they're likely going already have to do that for Ramirez. The situations at 1st ad 3rd are vastly different. And thanks for yet another useless thread title.

Id rather face the Mets or Phillies than the Dodgers, who with or without Manny are pound for pound the best team in the NL. You keep saying that like it's a sure thing when it's really not at all.

What the hell are you talking about? He wasn't terrible today by any means. What the hell are you talking about? 4er 3 walks and an impressive 4.98 era for the season. 2 of those earned runs came in the 7th, which he shouldn't have been out for since he was well over 100 pitches yet Lou sent him out anyway against the Brewer's best hitters. Through 6, when everyone expected him to come out, he had pitched a good game.

Dempster actually pitched a good game until Lou inexplicably left him out there in the 7th.

Why was Fox even in there in the first place? Yeah, they're down 3, but come on. There are some signs of life. Marmol, Heilman ad Guzman are all much better options. I know the bullpen has huge issues, but Lou is bullpen [expletive] even if he has a good one.

More on Lou than anyone else. He clearly was pulling a "that'll learn 'em" tantrum. he should have a tantrum about his bad managing. if he'd started the inning with guzman or heilman, the result might have been different. it's a one run game and your starter has thrown 115 pitches, you go to one of your better relievers. you don't leave your starter in to face the top of the lineup and then put in the dregs of the bullpen. I definitely agree. Lou's actions last inning pitching-wise are inexcusable. If he doesn't get sand up his verginer the Cubs are probably down 1-2 right now or even tied.
