  1. just about every one of Marshall's stats is worse as a starter than a reliever. K/9, K/BB, OpOPS, ERA, WHIP.... But the question isn't whether he's better as a reliever or a starter. The question is whether he can be at least acceptable as a starter if called upon and it's likely that he would be. Sean Marshall having to get starts isn't the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination.
  2. i would honestly shut him down for the rest of the year. Agreed. No need to rush him back at all.
  3. They gotta just shut down Noah indefinitely. His foot is apparently is still giving him a ton of pain.
  4. What does this even mean? Why would Cubs fans be bothered by an expensive prospect actually having some success?
  5. I must be missing something when it comes to the "hot anchors" on Fox because every time I tune in and it's a female news anchor she's just some slight variation of the lantern-jawed, moose-y blonde they've been trotting out for years.
  6. That, and he looks to be made up of equal parts of [expletive] and douchebag.
  7. Would it really be so horrible to have Marshall for a few starts?
  8. Wells saying he's competing is just him saying the right things to make it sound like he's working his ass off. He's got a slot in the rotation unless he injures himself or just bombs horribly in ST.
  9. I'll go with Berman theory since Berman is so awful.
  10. In my case I have reasons for all three. I was living in the Chicago area when I first started following football, I was living in Indiana when the Colts moved from Baltimore, and I was living in North Carolina when the Panthers started (and still am in NC). It's no trouble for me as long as I have a clear pecking order when it comes to the teams. For example, in Super Bowl XLI I wasn't happy that the Bears lost, I was just less unhappy than I would have been if they had lost to somebody else. By that reasoning I should also be a Nationals fan, and that's crazy talk. And a Ravens fan, too. Passsssssssssssssss.
  11. If only I was that stunningly handsome.
  12. AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY I'M SO MISERABLE.
  13. Admit it, you guys have staff meetings.
  14. He has a perfectly average team to work with complete with a true superstar. We've seen the Bulls have too many halves or quarters where everything breaks down even to the fundamentals. You can't dump that all on the players. We've seen too much glaringly stupid playcalling and streategies (or lack thereof) to give VDN a break and blame it all on the team. No I know being a Bucks fan it must fill you with jealousy, but it's true. Rose is clearly a game changer.
  15. When will the staff of this board take action over the fact that monsters like Old Style are driving away valuable posters like cubsfan?
  16. Good, because when he hurt his knee again last season his already streaky hitting went straight into the crapper.
  17. So they opted for surgery on his knee just to coddle his delusions?
  18. Uh, no he's not. He's not? He's been playing very well for quite some time now.

  20. Yessssss, let me feast on all of your delicious tears.
  21. Imagine the surprise when some people finally start realizing how all too common a GM of Hendry's caliber is after more "changes."
  22. There is a big difference between not signing someone because he isn't left handed and signing someone who is right handed, then wishing they were left handed. And yet wishing that someone was lefthanded isn't any kind of an insult.
  23. Hopefully they wise up and stop expecting him to steal bases. The focus should be on getting him and then him staying healthy enough to hit and play LF and that's it. His bat is far more critical than his ability to steal. That said, it's not like the report or his quote says that he's feeling pain. He's just not pushing the knee to its fullest yet and will do so in ST: Seems like the smarter decision to wait until ST to test the knee.
  24. Dissing or simply sound logic and common sense?
  25. If wishes and buts were candy and nuts then Jim Riggleman would be a gigantic fatass.
