That's not being anything except realistic. Again, given the type of player he is he could be "done," but nobody has any idea at this point after only one game against a pitcher he would normally be terrible facing even at his best. If he's still looking like this a month from now without having a hot streak or two, OK, then there's probably a problem. -
Sure, he could be done...but nobody has any idea of that after just one game.

Holy jump to conclusions, Batman. Look, Soriano has his obvious flaws and is overpaid, but it's ridiculous to act like he's already a non-factor this season when he's played one game against a pitcher who would eat him alive even if Soriano was even in the middle of one of his hot streaks. How long does he have to crap the bed before this becomes a reality? I may be jumping to conclusions as well but, he was terrible in spring, pathetic today. I don't think it's far-fetched to conclude he's nearly done and a liablity. Is this serious? THEY'VE PLAYED ONE GAME. Lee, Aramis and Soto sucked in spring training, too, so you better get their replacements lined up as well. He's coming back from a season that he played most of while hurt and he's played one game against a pitcher he likely has little chance against even at his best. To be a liability he'd have to go on a stretch of crappy games at least longer than his usual cold streaks. Deciding that they need to think about benching him after the first game of the season is absurd.

I think it's less the organization "overrating" him at this point as they are desperately hoping he somehow magically figures it out.

Every cloud has a silver lining, I suppose. Marshall is a huge stud. If he was with any other organization he'd have had at least one 15-win season by now. LOLOL What? You don't think if he had been with the Royals/Pirates/Reds/Orioles/Nationals/etc. he'd have at least one 15-win season? QUIT HATIN'.

There's a 0% chance you would be complaining if either you were a Braves fan or if Heyward was on the Cubs. Plus it's silly to think they wouldn't make a big deal out of him with how highly rated and regarded he is around baseball. If Castro continues to look good and get better you'll see somewhat similar hype. Marshall rules.

The 6-1 hitters are basically a candy shop for a guy like Lowe. I still think Soto will be OK I do, too, but even when he's on he's dead meat with a guy like Lowe.
