  1. The Cubs can stare at it all they want, but that fastball isn't getting any straighter.
  2. Do the fallback fans have fallback boards, too?
  3. Shhhhhhhhhhhh, you're suggesting bullpen logic. Lou will never grasp that.
  4. I'll bet those triples are Soriano's fault, too.
  5. Theriot, for the love of God, don't [expletive] this up.
  6. But he hit a home run his first time up and put on 25 pounds! This band [expletive] sucks.
  7. I'm aware we wouldn't have got anything good for him, but at the least we could have sent him to the American League. Where he couldn't beat us. I guess. It's really inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

  9. Which is silly, since it's tiny minority of the plays he handles that he ends up screwing up. I understand that, but anything he has to move to his left or right on is never easy for him. He does make the routine pop fly with relative ease, but moving side to side is an adventure. Hes so damn scared of that wall its ridiculous. Not really. It's a brick wall and he's not an outfielder. He's scared of all walls, brick or not, and he's been in the OF for nearly half a decade now. Fantastic. He's still not an OFer and never will be.
  10. Nobody identified what they had. There's plenty to slam Hendry over, but expecting to somehow magically know that McGehee would have any type of sustained success in the majors based on what he had shown up until he was claimed is absurd. I don't want to look it up, but didn't we have two spots open on the 40 man when we let him go? Couldn't we have at least tried to get something for him? Why bother? He was a zilch at the time. Because he was still our property and there was no reason to allow him to go to another team within the division for nothing. You're assuming they could have even gotten anything in return for him. You seem to be talking about him like they could have centered a trade around him when in reality he'd be a last minute add-on to a trade at best at the time.

  13. I don't know about pure luck, but we have guys entrenched at both positions he can play. I suppose we could've kept him as a bench bat. No, it is pretty much luck. When he was claimed he had shown basically nothing that would project him to be a backup player at best. He also hasn't proven that he will continue his success. Thinking that he has is like thinking Fontenot was set in stone.

  16. These type of posts have somehow come all the way back around to being hilarious again.
  17. What the crap. That's what you get for walking the pitcher.
  18. He doubled and scored the only run of the game literally a half hour ago. And hes 3 for his last 6...HE HAS NO CLUE WHAT HES DOING! Ok lets think outside the frame of the 3 out of last 6 and just overall.. Overall he was an essential part of this team 2 of the last 3 seasons. They have to see if he can produce because they're fucked if he can't.
  19. Nice throw and grab, but Cubs maybe got a break. Or not.
  20. He doubled and scored the only run of the game literally a half hour ago. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY.
  21. I really like the guy. His reaction to the deep fly out was hilarious.
