  1. Yeah, Lou's taking on some disturbing Dusty traits when making his lineups. Trammel is managing tonight, though that's something Lou has been doing his entire time with the Cubs.
  2. That seems like an unnecessary waste of time.
  3. And that's what I figured. I guess what I'm more curious about is whether or not there's really a huge difference this year between having something like the 4th pick or, say, the 8th or 9th? Wilken may take the same guy regardless of position. At least the higher selection gives you the option, but more importantly, may be the thing that pushes Ricketts over the edge to deciding to make a move. An 88 loss season may allow Hendry to convince him a couple minor changes could turn everything around, but flirting with 100 losses could make that more difficult. Yeah, I suppose. I just always find it tough to effectively root for them to do as badly as possible.
  4. No, he's not valuable. He's not hurting the team, but he's not valuable. Of course he is. He's a productive player.

  6. Is there anyone even truly exceptional in the draft this year where having a higher draft pick than what they have now could actually have a good chance of making a difference? People are talking like there's some can't miss prospect or prospects in the top 5...or is it just the usual excuse to pretend like someone doesn't care or wants them to lose?
  7. How has his movement looked? Is he having a night where his pitches are running all over the place because there is so much movement or is he just wild? How about his velocity? To me it just looked like he didn't have much control. Velocity-wise I don't remember seeing him hit above 91, but I could have easily missed it if he did.
  8. Damn, that was almost an epic play by Sandoval.
  9. Well...... I, for one, care. As do I. Same here. I mean, I don't know if "care" is the right word, but I love baseball, this is my team and I want to watch and I want them to win.
  10. I don't understand the focus on Soriano. Yes, he has a terrible contract, but why are you singling him out like he's having a bad year or hurting the team? With runners on base he's hitting .285 .333 .570 .903. Sure his overall RISP scoring numbers aren't idea, but .256 .330 .449 .778 is pretty far from the end of the world, and with just one runner on either 2nd or 3rd he's OPSing over 1.100. Yes, he's obviously overpaid, but he's still very valuable to this team.
  11. HEY, GUYS, LET'S GET THIS BACK ON TOPIC.
  12. Neither the Reds nor the Cardinals will accomplish [expletive] in the playoffs, so good luck to both teams.
  13. Yeah, all the people here who don't like Lou are just dying to have Sandberg as the manager. Good call.
  14. My son is out avenging my death while dressed up like a giant bat.
  15. I LOVE MY DEAD GAY SON.

  18. Right. Between that and young players the Cubs have who are doing well they are much better off than they were in 2006.
