  1. Alright, who is the lone nay and why? I'm not saying they're wrong; I'm honestly curious as to why they think he's doing a bad job. Personally I'm with the people who say the "good" is mainly how you kinda forget that he's there.
  2. Yes, of the heart.
  3. Yeah, I mean, we're relatively splitting hairs when we're talking about money; it's the SB and it's going to make an ungodly amount regardless of where it's played. I just don't see Chicago having anything to actually make the argument that the SB should be held here. Shitty weather, terrible field, terrible tiny stadium that looks awful on TV...none of these are things that could completely derail the idea, but in the end the attitude is likely going to be "why bother" when there are so many more easily accommodating locations that are much better suited.
  4. I know. Look at it this way: Chicago has absolutely nothing to offer to entice the NFL to bring the Super Bowl here. Nothing.
  5. I don't see what the gamble is personally. There are plenty of places where crappy weather can and has played a major role. Snow in Chicago would be better than a rain storm in Miami. The Super Bowl is, first and foremost, a television event. And snowy football games make for fantastic television. The media members who want their paid vacation at the beach will be upset, but anybody should love the opportunity to be involved with such an event. Well, they wouldn't be if it's a hideous Chicago Feb., and you know it. You'd have tons of complaints from around the league to such an idea, and from outside, too. They're not going to potentially dent their cash cow, so they're going to continue to take the path of least resistance more often than not and stick to domes or warm-weather locations, the NY game aside.
  6. Well, it's a really shitty stadium, too.
  7. I have absolutely zero confidence in that happening. Besides, isn't it a pipe dream in the first place? I know we're going to see one in NY soon, but playing a SB in Feb. weather in a place like Chicago just doesn't seem like something the NFL will gamble on.
  8. I like my Super Bowls not played on the field equivalent of a chewed-up piece of beef, thank you very much.
  9. *Roaring applause*
  10. Horrible idea.
  11. *Slow clap*
  12. You can still wear your Zubaz, sulley.
  13. All time favorite tumblr blog. #curtains Jordan's horrible fashion taste is truly baffling. For one, he's seemingly stuck dressing like it's still the 90's...unfortunately, he dressed like [expletive] in the 90's, too.
  14. It's hard to blame all of Wood's injury issues on him since Wood started missing major time a good 3 years before Hendry became the GM.
  15. Strawman. No one said "can't enjoy." The argument is "enjoy slightly less." No it isn't. You've said "ruined" all along. It is a lie. When something could be 10 on a 1-10 awesome scale, and instead it's an 8.5, I think it's reasonable to say it was "ruined." Not if it's a woman. That's still a damn fine looking lady. Are we using BB's scale?
  16. Nailed it. You know he was sitting there, thinking he had to somehow comment on this, and when all was said and done that's what he came up with. Even da Bum would be shaking his head.
  17. No he doesn't and like pretty much everything Hawk talks about, he's wrong. Pierzynski could have broken Zobrist's ankle with his slide yesterday and I wouldn't have faulted Zobrist one bit if he would have gone Michael Barrett and decked Pierzynski. The wasn't a takeout slide, it was total bush league. Pierzynski deserved to get plunked, he did, and that should have been the end of it. Instead, that moron Sox pitcher decided to try to hit Zobrist, which he couldn't even do successfully. He deserved to get tossed and he did because it was completely unnecessary. This. I don't understand why so many people think Hawk was right about this. At least this morning on the Score Hawk said that warnings should have been issued after AJ got plunked (which he admitted he deserved). I agree with that, but the lack of a warning doesn't mean it isn't within the ump's judgement to toss someone for blatantly going after somebody. Wegner was well within his right to judge intent, and there was absolutely intent. Hawk's the one who should go to umpiring school and learn the rules. Yeah, all of the radio bits I've heard today about this have been reliably meatball-y and only mention A.J. getting plunked and not that it was in retaliation for the slide.
  18. Wait...Fox? Jake Fox?
  19. Yeah, what the [expletive]? Choi was still plenty praised at the time; he had been the #22 prospect just the year before and I remember a lot of commentary at the time saying the Cubs had made a mistake moving him for Lee.
  20. How dare you slander the DH like that. GIVE US THE DH, PLEASE!
  21. might? Well, there's a lot of baseball history, and you probably had at least a few ranting about "ethnics" over the years.
  22. Who are the "two hitters?" Castro and LaHair?
