  1. What on Earth are you babbling about? Making fun of Kyle and his waffling ways isn't being overly defensive of Brett Jackson.
  2. There was never any chance of it happening, but I would have loved if they had dropped a new stadium onto the remnants of Cabrini Green.
  3. Who besides the meatballier people here didn't have vocal concerns about Jackson before he was called up?
  4. Man, that best of 19 World Series in 2003 would have been BRUTAL.
  5. The Cubs are going to stink on ice and up the butt for the next year, so we need something to pass the time.
  6. Oh, hey, shocker that Kyle is setting the stage for some gigantic waffling if he sees the opportunity.
  7. WSR-worthy.
  8. Rock Shoulders, IMO. Though Al Albuquerque and Mario Mercedes were cool, too. Razor Shines, now and forever.
  9. I'd prefer more players that aren't struggling to put up a 1.1-1.5 WAR.
  10. And yes, I am saying that he sucks; he just sucks at a tolerable level in the short run.
  11. His statement was that Valbuena's value goes beyond what his stats can track, to which I said you CAN track exactly what he was praising...which you then showed. And dude's been fawning over him for a while. It's amusing.
  12. For the love of [expletive]. How is it so difficult to grasp that some people would simply be annoyed if the White Sox win? Not wanting them to win isn't "playing into" anything; White Sox fans are going to be awful regardless, so I'd prefer the option that gives them nothing.
  13. Defensively, yes, I've got no issues with him. I don't really have a "problem" with him at all; the Cubs need a cheap, serviceable placeholder at 3B and ideally he can fit the bill. I'm just amused by anyone fawning over him.
  14. He's already the five best pitchers of all time.
  15. Barney, please get on so Rizzo can fix everything.
  16. Yes, that too, which extends beyond the reaction of the fanbase and ends up making the local media even more insufferable, especially with the Cubs in rebuilding mode. Between "well, THEY didn't have to rebuild" and "ooooh, guess you should have hired Sandberg; look how great Ventura worked out" you've got storylines that are just wretched and massively meatball-y.
  17. Jeez. Man up and realize that that franchise isn't even on our level and thinks about it every single day. They're all LOOK AT ME because they're the neglected red-headed step child. It's just annoying. Here's as basic as I can make it: it's infinitely preferable for nearly any other team to win besides the White Sox. Seeing as there's absolutely zero upside to them winning, I see no reason to be dissuaded from this.
  18. No, they lost because Castillo couldn't keep it in his pants and just put the ball in play.
  19. OK? So then it doesn't matter who wins.
  20. Kind of admire the ump for not tossing him. Some umps would toss you for just looking at you a funny. Yeah, but this was a player bumping him, and pretty obviously intentionally, too.
  21. How the hell was he not tossed? Though the ump's face in the replay is pretty hysterical.
