Castro doesn't have significant career splits, plus he should be getting as many PA as possible. Lake has excellent numbers against LH pitchers in a small ML sample, and he too should be getting as many PA as possible. Barney has no future with the team and can go fart an entire goose for all I care.
Travis Wood was drafted in the 2nd round. If he was thinking Kerry Wood, that was the #4 pick. That's what I thought he meant at first, too, but the loogy comment makes me think he must mean Wood or he's just REALLY confused.
That's basically giving Sveum a license to suck with no consequence. So he fits in just fine with everyone else running this godforsaken organization. But questionable pitching decisions and random bunt shenanigans aside I'm not looking to see him fired at this point. I guess I'd still vote "no" in those approval polls, but it's a 55-45 "no."
Come on, you don't remember all of those top prospect lists he was on left and right? Why, he ranks with such illustrious names as Eric Patterson and Adam Greenberg according to neely.
My comment was just in response to how he was saying it like it was some revelation that he thinks Peppers is an older/declining player. That started becoming obvious last year.
I'm concerned about it because getting pressure from the DLine doesn't seem like something that typically develops over time. You've either got the strength/speed to impose your will on the line, or you don't. Not likely to shift very much. I think -- hate to say this -- Peppers is solidly a player in decline now. Why do you hate to say that? It was pretty obvious he's at the end of his career as a Bear; I don't know why this is some kind of revelation.
