  1. I don't think I've ever eaten pizza at Wrigley, but kicking the vastly, vastly overrated D'Agostino's to the curb is fine by me.
  2. That is a fantastic sell-job.
  3. What was Remlinger's ridiculous injury? Not "tripped over my dog" ridiculous, but didn't something bizarre happen to him? May be thinking of someone else Something about a folding chair in the clubhouse. Cut his finger or foot or something. I was thinking it was kicking an electric fan, but that was Farnsworth.
  4. I gave up after 3. But even with all the pages of texts that still not the full findings presumably, so might as well wait for the official report before I flip my thoughts one way or the other. The only stuff worth reading are the texts at the very end after Martin left the team (~10/31/13). The rest of it is bro's talking about going out and getting laid, even all the way up until a day or two before he left. The texts definitely paint Incognito in a completely different light although I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I don't think Incognito was some kind of 24/7 monster; I'm sure there were tons of instances were he was trying to be the cool mentor/teammate and plenty of instances of Martin trying to fit in and get along with his teammates, as the texts show. But in no way do they show the entire picture, and the actions (or inactions) of the Dolphins over the course these seem to show there's plenty of fire to go along with the smoke. It's kind of ridiculous looking at the comments of those articles how it seems like a good 95% of the people commenting on the story thinks the texts completely vindicate Incognito and the Dolphins and totally destroy Martin.
  5. I totally see SSR's reasoning, but I can't agree with the bold at all. Maybe I'm just a big wet blanket but I find the bleachers totally miserable. The view of the game kinda sucks. You can't really lean back so you're kinda hunched forward uncomfortably the whole game. You have to worry about someone saving your seat when you get up to go the bathroom or buy beer or whatever. And I'm all about stupid drunken antics, but the level of such douchebaggery is tenfold there. I'm not saying there aren't fun aspects of it but the drawbacks are too much for me. Totally agree. I like doing the bleachers thing once or twice a season, but to have that be your seat option for every game? And even if someone loves the atmosphere I don't know how they could think they're the best seats; you can't see [expletive]. He DID say he's right out of college, so I guess that explains, but the old man side of me thinks that sounds like a nightmare.
  6. Charity-charity-charity. Selling your tickets is nigh-impossible past the first month or two, so this year we're donating a ton of them and basically writing them off.
  7. Does it? There's a humongous amount of context missing. Having a bunch of texts talking about partying and Incognito trying to be cool doesn't mean there wasn't tons of fucked up [expletive] happening. That, or now it sounds like they were having a beefy love affair.
  8. I still do not understand the whole 3 votes thing.
  9. Huh, so I guess MurtonFan got into making commercials after he vanished. Good for him.
  10. Just not a fan of big game blow outs unless it was my team unleashing the blow out.
  11. The only thing worse than this boring Super Bowl was the halftime reminder that heroin inexplicably spared Anthony Kiedis but robbed us of maybe the best actor working today.
  12. Sorry: http://replygif.net/i/1455.gif
  13. Oh, clearly these are two different guys.
  14. Pure sweat-power.
  15. It's bonkers; it's this crazy, loopy thing that practically has a gully in the middle of it. HOW THE [expletive] DID ANYBODY THINK THAT WAS A GOOD THING.
  16. Patterson's line before ripping a standup RBI triple into the RF corner: .322, 12 HR, 45 RBI On June 3rd.
  17. I really shouldn't keep watching this.
  18. "Kerry Wood will turn 26 next week, though with the way he looked the other day you have to wonder just how good can he possibly get?!?"
  19. http://replygif.net/i/933.gif Why is this amazing game so filled with sadness. WHY? Joe Morgan: "With arm problems, you can never predict a pitcher's career." OH GOD, THEY WERE SHOWING A SHOT OF WOOD WHEN HE SAID THAT.
  20. It's insane even just to compare the rosters of these two teams to see how they could not possibly be more different in terms of success and disaster.
  21. http://replygif.net/i/933.gif Why is this amazing game so filled with sadness. WHY?
  22. NEXTEL POLL QUESTION: Which player, age 25 or younger, is most likely to make the Hall of Fame? Mark Mulder Mark Prior Albert Pujols Alfonso Soriano Barry Zito
  23. The first shot of Dusty made me go into a fugue state.
  24. LOOK AT THE FULL, HAPPY CROWDS. If only they knew, the poor, poor fools...
  25. oh hell yes i promise not to liveblog this but 75 seconds in and the sight of prior makes me want to throw up. "...he's put up some remarkable numbers...especially when you consider he's only 22-years old!" BAAAAAAAAAAAAAARF. And then the weird shot of him showing of his pitches while wearing short-shorts.
