  6. It was mostly a good show regardless of which era or whatever the [expletive].
  7. I remember it bugging me because his hot starts was so slugging-bloated (his OBP wasn't bad, but it was kinda meh given the expectations, then that improved, but his slugging fell off) . This year seems a lot more sexily well-rounded.
  8. I'm honestly not seeing anything in there beyond what we've been discussing/hoping for for a while now; it's still tolerating a lot of [expletive] for years in the hope this works out.

  10. North, can you post something about pitch framing? I think we'd hear CubinNY's head explode. But nice breakdown; anything that makes my irrational disliking of Rizzo seem even more irrational is pretty great.
  11. My seats were right by first and I was calling Rizzo "Tinyface" all game. I don't know whether to credit that or Bayside more for what's happening right now.
  12. Must have missed that one.
  13. HINT: the snow glows white on the mountain tonight http://replygif.net/i/1331.gif Searching for that just brings up some song from Frozen.
  14. What? They don't have to be "impact bats" to be huge upgrades in our outfield. And given what our infield could be, guys like that could easily be enough to make this offense pretty good. We could be pretty good right now with a league average outfield. we really could. Nelson Cruz was just sitting there, waiting to take a 1 year deal!
  15. StarlinOnYou? I have to admit, I don't get the pun. I'm sure it's embarrassingly obvious.

  17. Come on, Baez-Rizzo-Stanton-Bryant should get a smile going.
  18. Me too, likely because they passed on at least one awesome trade they should have made.
  19. If he keeps getting on base 42% of the time he should definitely hit higher than that. yeah, if the walk rate pans out at all, i want him at two forever Castro-Rizzo-Baez-Bryant, 1-4. Mmmmmmm.
  20. Stupid city tore down what would have been it's most amazing tourist attraction.
  21. Well, it was more that it gave the right people the clout/backing to put into effect a city plan that was being proposed before the Fair, but yes, the young city obviously benefited from the attention it brought.
  22. The World's Fair? Yea, and the planning/implementing of it went a lot like Rio now. Is there really much left from it? I thought there's basically a museum and parks and that's it. People involved in it were also big movers and shakers when it came to the city's planning and architecture before and after, but it's kind of a stretch to say that Chicago has "much" of the actual Fair left at this point. I think he means benefiting insofar as it helped give Chicago recognition or something (and subsequently become what it is now). Ah, gotcha.
