  1. Tangent? All I said was that the coverage I had heard of the incident mentioned nothing about intent, then I come here and everyone is talking about intent. There's a disconnect between how it's being covered and how it's being discussed. So what? That happens all the time. It's just ridiculous how easily you're swayed without even knowing what happened.
  2. Then this is still a classically hilarious Derwood tangent.
  3. Did you ever even see the video?
  4. I CERTAINLY DO http://meblogwritegood.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/screen-shot-2011-10-18-at-9-31-51-pm.png

  6. 99% of the time, no. And if it was in doubt then the review is just part of the awesome excitement/tension of the moment, but otherwise it's almost always a formality and worrying about in any way is hilarious.

  8. blame the 90's bulls for making that cool Somewhere, Jalen Rose just cried out in rage and anguish.
  9. I love replay discussions because it reminds of the time Kyle said scoring reviews in football bother him because he doesn't know if he can celebrate a touchdown or not and it makes me laugh and laaaaaugh and laaaaaaaaaugh.
  10. one of the greatest things about it is being able to watch some dude who cant run around in the field anymore continue to smash dingers I know, right? It ideally lets your team keep at least one beloved slugger well past when they could have if they were in the NL. That alone makes it awesome.
  11. And I just want the DH to be added to the NL already; I grew up thinking the opposite, but I'd rather have it the same across the board, and there's zero chance the DH goes away. Plus the Cubs could have kept Aramis, dammit.
  12. Yuuuuuuuuuup. I'm convinced that anyone that thinks it's bad just doesn't understand how it works and simply assumed "different = I hate it."
  13. That you followed this... ...with this... ...made my day.
  14. Sure, for bums. Might as well start wearing sweatpants, too.
  15. Because unless there is some clause that has gone unreported for the last 2 years, Soler won't become a FA until after 2021 if they don't call him up until late April I thought that was Bryant. Since Soler wasn't drafted why would he have something similar? I thought they could bring him up at any time.
  16. Why would you say $$$ for Soler?
  17. This is going to be a long, long winter.
  18. So move him to 2B and Baez to 3B. i like this: CF - Alcantara SS - Russell 1b - Rizzo 3b - Bryant RF - Soler 2b - Baez LF - R. Castillo C - W. Castillo After swapping Castro for an established Ace like Hamels, perhaps that makes Chicago more attractive to Lester or Scherzer, and the Cubs nab one of them to round out the rotation. So you have two aces, Arrieta, Hendricks, and Turner and a bullpen full of fell creatures to add to the lineup of heroes. In summation, my four arguments for Hamels are: 1. He'd be easier to acquire 2. He's signed for only 4 more guaranteed years which takes him to 34 by the end of the deal 3. If there is a dropoff in production from Castro to Russell (which there almost certainly won't be), the upgrade of Hamels to Jackson or Wood or whomever would more than make up for it. 4. The changeup he throws as his out pitch is much easier on the arm than the breaking stuff others throw But you're essentially assuming that the largely established Castro is all but a lock to be outperformed by a bunch of prospects. I'd rather keep him, and if you're so concerned with making room for all of these guys then simply leave out Castillo or trade Alcantara.
  19. So move him to 2B and Baez to 3B.
  20. I'm sorta thinking this is because people said I was out-crazy-ing you the other day so you stepped it up.
  21. Still going to go to the game afterward? If the Purple Line express is running on time, probably.
  22. I like Coghlan, too, but it's not all that similar to Valbuena mainly because Coghlan is a defensive nightmare.
